13th as our annual holiday week and

Engagement
-Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Keller, of
Dashwood, announce the engagement
of their eldest daughter Ada Melinda
to Mr. Earl Robt. Telfer, youngest
of,,Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Telfer of
Brantford, the wedding to take place
in July.

e's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Doupe, of Kirkton, on Saturday
June 24th; Roxie Ilene to Mr. Wal-
ter Weber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan-
iel Weber of Dashwood by Rev. G.
Hazelwood of Walton.
HIT BY LIGHTNING
During an electrical storm Mrs.
Lewis Johns of Usborne, was injur-
ed when lightning entered the barn.
She was assisting with the milking
and was standing with pari in hand
when lightning entered the barn and
struck her, was knocked to the floor,
and in falling struck her head, and
for a time was unconscious. She suf-
fered bruises to the face and her left
arm is partly paralyzed.

Graig—Taylor
Grand Bend United Church was
the scene of a pretty June wedding
when Nola Annabel Taylor, only
daughter of Mrs. W. T. Jennison and
the late Lorne Taylor, became the
bride of Earl Gordon Craig, son of
Mrs. E. Craig and the late W. Craig
Blyth. Rev, W. T. Cleave officiated.
The wedding music was played by
Miss Mae Patterson of Grand Bend.
The bride was given in marriage by
her step father and was lovely with
many spring flowers. Mrs. Ira Des-
jardine, Dashwood was matron of
honor, and Miss Betty Craig, Aub-
urn, neice of the groom was brides-
maid; Bert Craig, of Auburn brother
of the ;groom, was best man and Lee
Jennison and Robert ,Jennison, step-
brothers of the bride, were ushers.
Immediately following the ceremony
a reception was held at the home of
the bride. The bride and groom Ieft
later for a honeymoon trip to Toron-
to and other points. On their return
they will reside in Stratford. Guests

nes have spent a day recently with
Mr. and Mrs. "Wilfred .Huxtable of
Centralia.
Miss Erica Schultz of Crediton is
spending her vacation at her home
here,

and Mrs. David Davidson and Dalton
Misses Georgenia and Doris Seiler,
and Mrs. Thomas Salter of Stratford,
Mr. and Mrs. John Davidson and
family of Kitchener spent the weeks
end with the former's son and dam
ghter Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Davidson,
also Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith, Mrs.,
Ellen. Mason and .Shirley of Strat-
ford visited Sunday with the latter's
sister, Mr. and )Mrs. Wm. Davidson.
Quite a number from this vicinity
gathered at the Lions' Park, Sea -
forth for the school picnic and all
report having a good time.
In Magistrate's Court
Goderich—Convicted in police
court of operating a motor truck out
side the 35 -mile limit, Ivan Lauzon,
retail fruit dealer, Goderich was fin-
ed $50 and costs, he pleaded not
guilty, as he was delivering perish-
able fruit and vegetables to airports
and military camps at the request of
these officials. The Crown Attorney
stated that other fruit .dealers are
obeying the law, while the magistrate
said, it is hard to pass laws to suit
everybody.
