WELCOME PASTOR
(Kitchener Record)
New Hamburg, May 20—The con-,
gregation of the Evangelical Church
last night officially welcomed its new
pastor, Rev. Clayton Becker and -Mss
Becker. The reception was need in
the church parlors. Mrs. J. E. Binge -
man, president of the W. M. S., Suet
the guests who in turn were intro-
duced to Rev. and Mrs. Becker by
Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Borth. Howard
Hostetler presided, S. D. Peacock
welcomed Rev. and Mrs'. Becker on
behalf of the older members •or the
congregation and Clare Weber on
behalf of the younger members.
Reeve W. R. Hostetler gave the new
pastor and his wife the official wel-
come from the village. Rev. H. R.
Mosig, pastor of Trinity Lutheran
church and president of the New
Hamburg and District Ministerial
Association extended. the welcome
from the association. Rev. J. W.
Hisey of the Baptist church also, ex,
tended greetings.
Rev. Mr. Becker replied fittingly.
'With Christ as our common foundat-
ion we wiI l go forward together', he
said. He extended an invitation to
everyone to come to him at any time
and asked for the prayers of the
people in their behalf.
Special music for the occasion was
a number by the Junior Choir, a vio-
lin solo by Tommy Kirkpatrick and a
vocal solo by Donna Merner, 'Rev.
Mosta closed the meeting with prayer
Lunch was served by women of the
congregation. __

ing weddh ag when Rev. D. A. Con-
rad, officiated for the marriage of
Margaret L. Schwalm, W.R!C.N.S.,
Halifax„ daughter oaf Mrs. Violet
Schwalm, of Hensall, and Ldg. Sigma
William Charles Wayne, of Hamil-
ton, now stationed at Halifax, son of
Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Wayne, of Ham-
iltonn. Chief Petty -officer Prossor, of
Halifax gave the bride in marriage
who was charmheg in a floor -length
gown of White sheer crepe, sweet-
heart neckline, 'fitted bodice., and veil
with train. ,Shia carried a bouquet of
red roses. Her bridesmaid Kay Sim-
enuick of Rregina, Sack., wore sheer
floor length with lace insets. Patrol-
man Perks of Hamilton was grooms-
man, Miss Grant, church organist,
was at the console for the wedding
music. Thirty guests attended the re-
ception held later at the home of
Chia Petty -Officer and Mrs. L. Sea-
ger, Halifax, For their honeymoon
which is being spent in Hensall and
Northern Ontario, arta bride traveled
in 'her Aldfotim
