funds are urged to purchase "Dom-

and after going over the top in the
past loans, surely they will not lag
behind this time. Canada needs your
support in this great struggle. If
it were not for .this gigantic effort
the people• are putting forth perhaps
the enemy bombs would be destroy-
ing our homes at present. Be a
good Canadian and support the Vic-

During the advance of th,, ;"aiiad-
Ian division toward A'.irn. Jul;; 29,
1943 a Canadian Infantry Brigade
company of the Royal Canadian
Army Service Corps, was breaking
bulk when it came under heavy fire
from long range enemy artillery.
Ration drawing was on a time sched-
ule and the first units to draw were
due to arrive within one hour, Sgt.
Wright did not scurry for cover but
with complete disregard for his own
safety, continued his bulk breaker
task. The example of the non-com-
missioned officer carrying on under
fire immediately recovered the scat-
tered ration partly and the division
ration bulk was broken in time to
heet the requirments of the farward
troops. This N.C.O. when faced with
the difficult Royal Can. Army Serv-
ice Corps conditions and situations
brough about by the long lines of
communications, the •rapid advance
and heavy ammunition expenditure
of the Sicilian Campaign proved
himself courageous and dependable
and by his cheerful disposition and
personal enthusiasm he created with-
in the Company the finest spirit of
co-operation. Sgt. Wright lived up
to the highest traditions of the ser-
vice.
Women's Institute
The Zurich Women's Institute held
their May meeting at the Town Hall
on Tuesday evening. It was Grand-
mother's meeting and a prize was
given for the oldest and youngest
Grandmothers present. Mr. and Mrs.
Stelck and Mr. A. Finlayson of Blake
School, played a series of old fash-
ioned favorites in a claarastic livery
manner. The possibility of having a
short course given for the ladies of
Zurich was discussed. Provided eno-
ugh ladies in Zurich were interested,
it was decided that a short course in
either nutrition or sewing would be
taken up by the Institute.' This
course would he open to everyone,
and anyone interested in taking it
should indicate same to .the Institute
before the next meeting. It was also
decided that the next meeting, being
the last of the season, would be in
the form of a picnic lunch at Mrs.
Eckel's cottage.
