ORANGES GROW IN HENS:ALL
Mrs. Louis Clarke 'Sr. of Hensall,
is the proud possessor of an orange
tree two feet high, which she purch-
ased from a nursery three years ago.
The tree bears 8 oranges, four near-
ly ripe, and four green ones, with
more buds forming. Thrs. orange tree
was on display in one of the store
windows in Hensel' S'aturdaylast.

way on Monday of this week, and
the Government is appealing to the
public for to buy as much at you
can to help this all impoitant cause
along. The chairman for Stanley
Township is Elmer Webster; Hensall
and Hay East, L. Mickle and R. H.
Middleton publicity Zurich and
Hay West, Chairman, A. U. Kalb-
fleiseb, and the local canvassers are
W. H. Edighoffer and Milton Oesch,
who will in due time call on you to
buy what bonds you can to e. -tend
this world struggle along.
CHEAPER FISH
Goderich — The three last vess-
els of the winter fleet to leave got
away last week -end the Win. Shuppe
to engage in the grain trade and: the
Elgin and Hastings foe he coast.
These shipare equipped :or the °d -
eau trade. MacKay hrce ited their
nets and had two. good catchet of
herring and perch. The other comm-
ercial fishermen have not set their
nets as yet, and with existing, prices
there is little encouragement- for
th?em to do so. It is reported 'that
the United States market has bean
closed, and ,prices have droped
pretty nearly out of sight.

entering and theft in the counties of
Middlesex, Kent and Perth, as well 'as

Toronto. Brooks was sentenced:: to
terms in the penitentiary onesach

to one year in the reformatory, ,:the
sentences to run concurrently with
