To our Fellow Citizens:
You will recall that we, as
citizens rallied a the last Victory
Loan, six months ago, and establish-
ed a fine record for Zurich and Hay
West. We can point with pride to
the splendid response in the purchase
of Victory Bonds.
April 24, 1944
Surely, it is little we ask that we
loan our dollars and put up with the
necessary inconvenience until Victory
has been won, and our loved ones
are again in our midst. We are grv-

The Davidson well -ix-
Wingham arrived in town en4atiday
and have set up their equipment, and
regardless of the unfavourable wea-
ther, have got down to nearly a
hundred feet by the time our issue is
out. These men have the mist mod-
ern equipmeme, and are making good
time on the undertaking. The new
Village well is being drilled immed-
iatery west of the town hall on a
portion of land purchased from Mrs
Hey. The drillers are sinking a well
with an 8 -inch hole, and if they hit
a: good flow of water usually down
about 300 feet, the town will be well
supplied with water. Had a larger
pipe been used in the old well, this
new one would not have need to
be drilled. So here's hoping that
they may be successful in obtaining
an abundant supply of good water.

CLEAN UP!
The spring clean-up season is here
,with the warmer weather, and our
local Police Trustees are urging the
citizens to clean up their ash piles.
and other rubbish, es the laws of
saltation demand these restriotions,
and rightly so. To have a nice town
there elitist be order and cleanliness.
So do your bit, and clean-up around
your buildings as well as your street
frontage. awing to the drains put
in late last fall there is considerable
imevenessin front of the properties
Where they have passed. Some have
used their eliavel and rake a bit and
what ,a change it has made, others
should follb*.this example and what
a. satisfaction it would be to have
your frontage -nice and level again,
and the^ bit of exercise would he-
