Damages Around $60,000r mem
Out of Work
One of the most damaging fires in
the history of Zurich broke out last
Wednesday evening shortly atter
nine o'clock when neighbors gavathe
slates that the fine and well-equipped
two-story planing mill of F. C. K.alb-
Rebel./ & Son was on fire, the fire
starting in the. lower story nearthe
place where the equipment was for
to ;repair the machines. The Zurich
Fire Department was on the scene as
soon as possible and did what they
could, but thesmouldering lire had
eaten Its way in so deeply that it
could not be controlled and soonit
became to such a state that the
smoke became so dense that littlb
could be done but save the adjoining
buildings, which were mostly well
stocked with lumber and supplies, It
was indeed fortunate that the fltex
mill was saved as it was well loaded
With hunber, One can hardly realize
the rass of fine machinery and equip-,
ntent which was destroyed, the ac-:
