Mr. Frank Geoffrey who has spent
some time in Windsor and other po-
ints is at his home in Benvert:own at

Mr. Cyril Ducharme and Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Masse all of Windsor,
spent New Years' with their parents,
on -the Blue Water Highway south.
The Misses Shirley and Dons Jeff-
rey of Detroit spent the New Years'
holidays with their parents in Beav-
er -Town.
Pte. Napoleon Ducharme who is
stationed at Brantford with the Air
Force, spent New Years' with his
parents on the Blue Water north.
Mr. and Mrs. Tyrus Stansberry
and two sons were New Year's vis•
tors with the latter's ,patents.
At time of writing, many wile have
travelled from distant points, to form
a union with their parennts and relatif
ves, to exchange good wishes to one
another have now returned to their
respective homes. Though there we-
re vacancies in almost every home.
Let us .'hope that another year that
peace may be again prevailing, and
these may be brought back to their
homes again, those in the services of
their country. This will mean much
joy and happiness to all.

Notice'Motion Pictures
The Film Board of Canada, under the auspices of
the Huron Federation of Agriculture is showing a
series of Educational pictures in this district. 'One
at Dashwood School on
THURSDAY, JANUARY 20th.
And one at Zurich Town Hall, on
FRIDAY, JANUARY 21st.
There will be an afternoon meeting commencing
at 2.30 p.m. for school children. All children in
the surrounding district are encouraged to attend.
The evening meeting commencing at 8.30 p.m. will
be of a special nature for adults.
The Annual Meeting of th Hay Federation will be
held following the evening pictures in Zurich, on
January 21st.

Dies of 'Wounds
Mr. and 1VIxs' S. Cann, 'Blue Water
Highway north, received word that
their son, Pte. Bruce Cann, haddied
of .wounds in -Italy. They previously.
had received word that he had 'been
wounded .on Dee. 8. Pte. Cann 'ws a
native of Exeter, but the .feannyriave;'
lived :,just outside Bayfield for •the
last few years. His brother, Pte. Ste-
wart Cann, is in Italy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Luthee
Oke, of Usborne, were held on Fri-
day. afternoon. She passed away at

Gordon Appleton, an employee of

Wounded Overseas
Mr. and Mrs. S. J. V. Cann, of
Exeter received word front Ottawa
that their son, Pte. Stewart Cann,
was wounded in action in Italy on
Dec. 8th. There are no particulars,
the telegram stating that a letter

When he walked into the stable
dog had a beautiful red fox cornered -
ontop of the oat box. Mr. McDowell
promptly closed all the exits and
picked up a stick, walked up to the
fox and socked him on the dome,
Without undue exertion, and with no
loss of ammunition, he now has a pelt
worth $12 or probably more.
