SInd. The topic is Historical Re-
Auto Accidents
eeiWhat might have been an even
syr.serious accident ocenrrede Suet'
south of Zurich one day last week
during a blinding snow storm, when
My. John Brown, of the Goshen line
south and Mr. Schenk, butcher, of
crediton inet head on, _ not being
able to see each other, both had'
light pick-up autos and both receiv-
ed extensive damages. Mr. Schenk
was probably the more injured as
he is in London Hospital wath an in-
jured knee, while Mr. Brown is up
around the house, but he is still
considerable way from having fully
recovered from head injuries. Dur-
ing some of those short blizzards one
could not see for any distances, and
they seem to have comemn so rapid-
ly. We trust the injured will soon
be recovered.
HAD LARGE .GATHERING
Sunday evening was probably the
climax for a large gathering for the
Zurich Bible Society when they were
guest i St. Peter's Lutheran church
of town, when over three hundred
people gathered for this outstanding
service. The gathering opened with
the pastor, Rev. E. Heimrich as the
able chairman the lesson and prayer
was offered by Rev. C. B. Hecken-
.dorn, followed by a vocal number by
seven ladies of the Evangelical church
After another hymn by the ,eongra-
ption the male quartette gave an
inspiring number. 'This was followed
by the address of Rev. Denny Bright,
District Field Secretary of the Soc-
iety, who made a good impression in
his own way. St. Peter's choir ren-
dered a nice antberit; the Pastor then
made the announcements and stated
the offering which was arouina $33.00
Was not the annual appeal :to the
public, as the canvassers will call on
all citizens for their annual donation.
The president of the local eociety,
Mr. C. L. Smith then thanked St.
Peter's Pastor and congregation for
their 'kind hospitality and pleaded
with the public to be kind to the
local canvassers.. Mr. Theo. Haberer
then L,. . le report of the -nominet-
ing .committee, as the former otlicees
be ee-elerfo,d, Mr. Bruce Klopp gave
his report as Secretary -Treasurer.
The Pai,tor„ Rev. Heinirich then call-
ed the canvassers forward and in -
a very suitable way commissioned
them to go out on their fields of
duty. After the Lord's Prayer, a
hymn, the benediction, and the Nat-
ional Anthem, the happy and bene-
ficial gathering was dismissed. AM
many were the remarks of what a
lovely 4ervice this was indeed,
