the home of Mr and Mrs. Kuno Hart- I Monday, the latter being a daughter

Carmel officiated. Four grandsons
served the priests. Victor Lawrence,
Mery n I-Iartman. After-
wards the children and grandchildren
also the priests, including Fr. Hussy
of Seaforth, ' gathered at the old
homestead where a delicious chicken
dinner was served. Two very appro-
priate addresses were then read. The
jubilarians replied suitably. Mr. and
Mrs. Hartman received many lovely
gifts and congratulations on that
happy and memorable day.

noon. Being present were three sis-
ters and one sister-in-law, who have
a brother in the services somewhere
overseas Hoping that their brother
will be able to get a taste of the de-
licious jam which was made in the
Zurich town hall.

Late Mrs. Albert Hendrick .f.
The funeral of the late Elizabeth +
Eckstein, beloved wife of Mr. Albert a.
Hendrick of the Blue Water High-
way, was held last Thursday and was a.
largely attended, interment being t
made in the Evangelical Bronson line
cemetery, her death taking place on
Monday, September 27th in her 67th
year. She was born in. Hay Town-
ship being a member of the- family
of the late Mt. and Mrs. Henry Eek -
stein of the Zurich district, having
lived on the Bine- Walter Highway for
45 years, was a good neighbor, and
with her kindness had won many fri-
ends, and was much devoted to her.
family. Surviving are her husband,
two daughter, Mrs. Fred Bell, of
.Utica, and Mrs. Harry Cole, of Exe-
ter; five sons, Samuel, Lloyd, Donald,
and Laird of Blue Water Highway
and Edward of Crediton, one sister,
Mrs. William Le Roy, of New Haven,
and one brother, William Eckstein,
of Port Huron. The funeral services
were conducted. bar Rev. Cleave of
Grand Bend, and Rev. Mr. Jones of
IYAilsa Craig.

Jacob Schwartzentruber died on
Wednesday of last week in the Clin-
ton-Hospital
linton-Hospital after suffering a broken
hip for five weeks. He was in his
7,0-th year; was born on the Bronson
line, Hay Township and lived there
all his lite, Was of a very quiet
disposition and always when able was
a; hard woxing industrous man. Sur-
viving are his widow, the former Ag-
nes Drane; one son Alla,n, of New
Hamburg; three daughters, Mrs.. E.
Oesch, and Mrs. Roy Gingerica, of
'H -ay Township, and Mrs. Amos Gin-
gerich of Stanley Township; three
daughters died in infancy; two ,bro-
thers, Christian and David Schwartz-
enteubor of the Bronson. lune, Hay,
A public funeral was held at the
home of his daughter, Mrs, Roy Gin-
gerich on, Friday at 1.30 pan. and
then to the Amish 1Vlcntronite church,
Bronson line of which the departed
was a devoted lifelong member. The

Naftzinger and Rev. S. Schultz. In-
