( ` Skunk Hold up Chopping Mill
What would you do if a skunk got
into your roller chopper? That is ex-
actly what Ira Neill of Wroxeter is
wondering. The other day he had
his chopping operations held up but
it was not from a break C1 wn or
from any of the usual things that
might happen to retard suoh work.
A skunk did the trick. The skunk,
evidently a nosey fellow, crawled in
a hole in the chopper and dropped
down about four feet. It was a hec-
tic experience.
ARE LIABLE TO CALL
Men reaching the age of 18 this
year and married men up to 30 yrs.
of age now are subject to call for
compulsory military service under an
extension of the callable classes an-
nounced by Labor Minister Mitchell.
The new orders drop the minimum
callable age from 19 to 18, but pro-
vide that men shall not be served
with notice to report for medical ex-
amination until they reach the age
of 18 years and six months. The
extension makes married men betwe-
en the ages of 27 and 30 subject to
call for the first time. Previously
married men up to 25 were made
liable to call.
