Farmers are busily engaged in threshing their wheat crop, and the early oats and barley are being cut, and the harvest is progressing along nicely. . Mr and Mrs. Elzar Dormant and family, Mrs. Harry Duman Mrs. Jack Bean all of Kitchener, were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Yungblut. Mr. George Grain, of Hensel!, ac- companied by his' daughter Miss Ada Gram of Dryden, Mich., called in town on Tuesday. Mr. Gram, who is still quite active, on Tuesday cele- brated his 85th birthday. • Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Datars Jr., and daughter Anita motored to Kitchener on Sunday, the latter remaining to join friends attending the girl's camp at Fisher Glen, under the auspices of the Lutheran church. Mrs. A. H. Gackstetter had her household effects moved from Guelph to the home of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Harney, 2nd con. The change from the present 6 -mons. books is being made so that distribution of the next books will not have to be made in the winter. The present ration books were issu- ed in Ferbuary and covered six mons. The new book, the third since ration- ing started, will be issued on August 25, 26, 27 and 28. It is likely ,that the distribution plans will be similar to February. AN APPEAL An urgent appeal is being made by RCAF for more men to enlist hi the various departments of the- Fly- ing Forces. They are not getting thri men needed for Aircrew.
