Decoration Day was observed in
the Evangelical cemetery on Sunday
afternoon and was fairly -well atten-

The salary of Kn. MarthA Jacob,
matron of the County Home, was in-
creaSed from $600 to $1,000 and
that of her assistant, Erwin Jacob,

Summer is Here
With Monday, June 21st was the
official ushering i» of summer, and
we have been enjoying; real summer
weather tin.' past week, nice and dry,'
plenty of sunshine and good and
warm. Old Man Nature just seems
to know what is best for us, and with
the very backward spring, now things
are coming along very rapidly. The
spring crops -with :the farmers, altho-
ugh a little late, look very promising
for a good crop, fall wheat and the
meadows look very good, and every-.
thing is coming:along .09 good as can
be expected, Bee of :good cheer,
the Good Book tells "we shall have
a harvest,"
