Misses Shirley Erueger, Belva
Truemner, Myrtle. Hay and girl fri-
end, Mr. Ross Gascho, all of London
enjoyed the we.ek-end at their homes
here.
• Mr. Josiah Sararas and son Leon-
ard and brother Emmanuel of the
Blue Water south, and Mr. Ray
Fisher of Zurich, attended the fun-
eral of the late Christian Heyrock,
at London on Saturday.
The Good Old 24th.
Monday, May 4th was unique, as
we did not know was it a holiday or
not, the Bank and some of the places
of business were open while the pub-
lic and high schools were closed. It
just seems to us that it is hard to
forget the good old 24th as not be-
ing a holiday, it conies just at the
beginning of summer and when the
holiday season is mostly observed.

of ,Revision on the Assessment Rolls
for !1943 will be held at the Township
Hall, Zurich, on the 7th day of June,
1943 at 2 o'clock, in the afternoon,
for the purpose o:P having any ap-
peals against they rolls.
All appeals must be left with the
Clerk on or before May 29th, 1943.

Christian Heyrock, former resid-
ant of Elkton, Mich., and Zurich,
Ont., died in St. Joseph's Idospital,
London, on March 20,th in his 84th
year. The deceased was born on the
old Heyrock homestead on the Blue'
Water Highway, hall.' mile south of
St. Joseph, and many years ago went
to Michigan where he was engaged in
farming till about seventeen years
ago he retired, and part of -this time
was spent in the old home neighbor-
hood and Zurich district. For the
last while he was staying at the
home of his niece, Mrs. T. Frank
McCutchoon, 15 Willingdon ;avenue.
Besides his niece, the deceased is
Survived by a nephew Mr. Milton
Heyrock of Detroit, being a brother
to Mrs, McCutolleon, also a sister,

Mrs. Mary Smith of Los Angles, who
is now the only survivor of the once
so well known Heyrock family lin the
Zurich district. Mrs. Smith has a
son, Andrew, and two daughters in
Los Angles, who the departed is an
uncle. The :body rested at the Mil-
lard George funeral home till Sat-
urday afternoon at 2.30, when Rev.
T. 3, Watson, St, .lames Presbyter-
ian churchofiliciated the funeral In-
terment was .;~lade. in London Mem-
orial Park.
