Over 172 tons of sugar were ap-
lied for at the office of the Exeter
Ration Board. The work of receiv-
ing and listing totalling the appli-
cations from 8,856 people is now
completed, and,
.:farther instructions
are now available before ,the issuing
of 'Canning Sugar Coupons will com-
mence.
Hensall Council Minutes
The regular meeting of the Vilage
Council was held on the eve. of May
3rd with all members present. Minut-
es of the previous meeting read and
adopted.
T. Kyle reported re the trees on P.
:Weir's property. Property Commit'to
W. 13. Cross and W. Davidson ap-
peared re the drain at ,the side of
their property on Albert street
G. R. Hess and W. Davidson ap-
peared re salvage asking the village
to supply the cartage. Recommended
to make a bee some evening and get
same donated.

Rally if you possibly can. Bring
the whole family out to this prog-
ram which will prove to be enter-
taining as well as educational.
OBITUARY
Late Myrtle Elizabeth McKinley
Jluch sympathy is extended to Mr
and Mrs. Elgin McKinley, of Stan-
ley Twp., Goshen line, in the loss of
their eldest daughter, Myrtle Eliza-
beth, who passed away on 'Wednes-
day, April 28th, in her 17th year.
The departed became seriously ill
about two years ago and recovered,
but was left with an impaired heart
which gradually grew worse, although.
everything possiblle was done for
her, but of no avail. Surviving are
her parents, three 'brothers, one. ,is -
ter, and 'three grandparents. k
public funeral was held at the home
on Friday at 2 p.m. with interment
following in Bayfield cemetery. Rev.
Reba Hern, of Varna, her- pastor,
conducted the services. The family
have the sympathy of a large circle
of friends.
Late Mrs. William Tumtrull
The death of Mrs. William (Amy)
Turnbull, well-known resident of the
Lake Road district, near Brewster,
took place, on Aril 28th at the hoarse
of her sister, a short clistance from
her own home. She took nt amt died
within a few hours, was born near
Bayfield, Her husband is a former
reeve of Hay Township, having al-
so served for many years as council-
lor, and having farmed on their at-
tractive farm in Hay Township prior
to moving to the Blue Water highway
Surviving besides the husband are
two daughters, 'Mrs. Samuel Hendrick
of the Blue Water Highway, Miss
Marion, of Detroit; two sorts, Ed-
ward, of Grand Bend, and Dr. 'Wil-
fred Turnbull, of Vancouver; three
sisters, Mrs. Echo Abbott, of Lon-
don; Miss Charolette Spackman, of
Vancouver, and Mrs, William Hall, of
Gore Bay; three brothers, Lorenzo
Spackman of Flint, Mich; Hugh Sp-
ackman of Alberta, and Jack Spack-
man of Timmins. The funeral was
held at the family residence on Fri-
day at 2 p.m. with Rev, W. Cleave
of Grand Bend United Church offi-
ciating. Interment was made in thy
Grand I3etttt (1Crnetery.
