Travelling by tractor seems to be the popular method lately, on Sun- day afternoon when alil traffic was at a standstill, a tractor with a low farm waggon attached to it, came through the deep snow to town and deposited the supply of milk to the local dairy in town, and after load- ing up the empty cans nicely journey- ed on its way homeward, not in the least disturbed about the weather or deep snow drifts. Another Real Storm Another terriffic storm visited these parts of, the world over the week -end when roads became blocked, high- ways filled in and railway trains we- re behind schedule and many were cancelled, in one of the worst storms of the winter. Many back roads are still plugged up and will be Por some time. The weather was also very cold, and March surely came in like a lion this year. 'haw, he's well again and doing a war job. "MY HUSBAND'S had a nervous breakdown -- just worry. He left his job in the shipyard to go into logging. But his health suffered and the doctor says he's got to take a complete rest. But we haven't any ready money. How can he rest?" The bank manager listened to her troubles sympathetically. He knew the husband, knew the wife—both sound citizens. The bank advanced the money on personal security . .. on the good char- acter of two honest, hard-working people. In a few weeks, Fred was well again and worlr- ing in the shipyard. The loan was paid back in full. Because of bank accommodation he is now getting financially on his feet again—and aiding Canada's war' effort. This ' true story—only the name is changed— illustrates how Canada's Chartered Banks, day in and day out, serve the human as well as the fine*. dal needs of Canadians; ay banking during morning hours you can help the war effort, facilitate your own business, and lightest the wartime burden on the mon and women in your branch bank.
