IN MEMORIAM
Melick—In loving memory of our
dear mother who passed away five
years ago, on February 13th, 1938.
What would I'give to clasp her nand,
Her happy face to see;
To hear her voice and see her smile,
That meant so much to us.
We think of her in silence,
Her name we oft recall;
There is nothing left to answer
But her picture on the wall..

Assets under administration adv-
anced satisfactorily during the year
to $39,906,180. The growth in 1942
took place in estates and trusts funds
and the net increase . of practically
one and three-quarter million dollars
reflects the result of an added numb-
er of estates and trusts which came
to The Canada Trust Company ' for
administration. The Company adv-
anced $95,935 of its own funds . to
estates under its care which needed
cash to make prompt payment of suc-
cession duties and other pressing ob-
ligations.
Monies invested by the public in
Guaranteed Trust Certificates and in,
Guaranteed Deposit Certificates total
over $7)4.00,000. These .sums repre-
sent' savings of more than 4,000 peo-
ple and are invested in choice mort-
gages, Government bonds and other
securities of, high tpye.

A Bad'Accident
As a result of a westbound Canad-
ian National Railway train at Lucan
on Monday morning, there is in St.
Joseph's !Hospital suffering a probab-
le skull fracture, a broken leg and
face cuts of Ralph Genttner, i27,
of Dashwood, who is at London and
was the driver of the car going to-
wards the 'city and with him was a
soldier Laverne Wells, 38 of Exeter,
who received a broken arm with oth-
er injuries. Seemingly .the occup-
ants of the car did not .notice the
train until it was too late and then
in the excitment tried to stop, where-
as, the engineer of the train said -if
they would have stepped on the auto
it would have nicely cleared by the
time the train got there, but as it is
besides the injuries the car is badly
damaged.
