OPENING OF THE T. HARRY
HOFFMAN FUNERAL HOME IN
DASHWOOD
We cordially invite the public to
inspect our Funeral Home on Sunday
August 30th at 3 p.m. and :the fol-
lowing week from 2 to 5 and from
7 to 10 •p.m. Before our opening on
August 30th at 3 p.m., local clergy-
men will conduct a 'brief dedicatory
service in the reposing room. After
the service, visitors will be shown
through. Funerals, if desired from
our Funeral Home have no addition-
al charge, this is an added service to
our patrons and our desire is to have
it used as their own. The living zoom
which is converted to the chapel the
day of the funeral, 'has a seating
.capacity of approximately /00 per-
sons besides an adjoining family
room. If necessary, many more can
:be .seated in other adjoining rooms.
Our casket display room located in
the basement, has a wide variety orf
caskets 'where the price of a funeral
can be at your own choosing. Our
preparation room located on the
main floor has been equipped with
the latest in embalming essentials,
approved by the Board of Examiners
and the local Board of Health. We
also have a private car for day and
night ambulance service for the con-
venience of the sick and injured.

Talbot will regret to know that he

Dr .Smith and Mrs. Smith and
family of Detroit arrived in their
yacht, and Mrs. Smith is remaining
for a time with her mother, Mrs.
Martin at h.er summer home and Dr
Smith returned to :Detroit by motor.
Capt. Lewis McLeod took the yacht
down the lake to its deetination.
Anniversary services were held in
St. Andrew's United Church on Sun-
day, Aug. 16th. Sqpadron Loader,
Rev. ,Soctt Morton had charge of
the morning service assisted by 20
mile vooices of ;the RAF in choir.
Rev. Rodgers of Holmesville had
charge of the evening service, spec-
ial music was provided and the ser-
vices were well attended.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hoffman
and son Bobbie have returned to
Gai*, after spending vacation with
their parents here. Mrs. NV H Hoff-
man accompanied them to Galt for
a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Oliver of St.
Marys spent Sunday at the home of
Mrs. Chas. Weber, and .were accom-
panied by Mrs. Flossie Brown who
was a few weeks visiting with the
Olivers.
Dr P. J. O'Dwyer returned home
after enjoying a two weeks' rest at
Wilberforce, Haliburton County. His
slaughter Miss Doreen and Miss Dor-

him; while the other members of the
family remained on vacation.

The Zurich 'and District Branch of
the Canadian Red Cross .Society have
shipped to headquarters the follow-
ing: 10 Ladies' long-sleeved sweat-
ers; 10 pr. knickers; 10 pr. Ladies
gloves; 10 pr. sockees; 110 caalots; .12

OBITUARY
Mrs. Martta Brenner Dies at
Midland, Mich.
Mrs. Martha (Albrecht) Brenner,
wife of George Brenner, .died at the
family home 808 George, st.,
laaul, Micth., Thursday afternoon, of
last week, folt!owing an Illness of 8
months She was born in Zurich, Ont
on April 15, 1874 and was- married
to George Brenner on September 21
1901 sit Detroit and had lived in
Midland since that time. Besides her
hufband, she is suraved bee two child
ren, &Isis Hilda Brenner, of New
York City and Miss Ruth at home ;
two sons, Ray of Fenton and Oral„
of Midland, also thr e grandchildren
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs.
Louis Schilbe ,ef Zurich and Mrs.
Beery Volland ,of 1Goderech, Ont.,
;a'eo two brothers, Henry Albrecht
of Langdon, N. Dek; and John Al-
brecht of Zurich. Funeral services
were held on Sunday afternoon at
2 o'clock at the home and at the
St. John's Lutheran church, of which
she was a member, at 2.80 io'clock.
