will be given to aid our less Fortun-

HAY COUNCIL
The regular monthly meeting of
the Council of the Township •onn Hay
was held in the Town Hall, Zurich,
on Monday evening, August 3rd,with
all members present. Minutes of the
July meeting were aadopted as read

ons the following resolutions were
passed:
Theta amount of $6.63 taxes on
1941 Collector's Roll assessed to
Pant Lot 21, Con. 2, Peter McNau-
gltton, be canceller to correct error
in assessment in 1941.
That generaal tax rate to be lev-
ied on all assessed property in Tp.
of Hay for yeara 1942, be confirm-
ed as .eat 12.56 mills.

OBITUARY
Late Mrs. Louis Kalbfleisch
There passed away in Zurich, alt
the home of her ,claughter, Mrs. H.W.
Brokenshire, on August 4th, Mrs,
Louis .Ka]ibfleiseh in her 75th year.
Mee. Ka1:bfl•eisch,a nee Anna Sophia
Schumacher, was born on .the 14th
concession of Hay Township, on
March 16, 1868. Slie was the third
daughter born to the union of John
Schumacher and Lisette Steinhagen.
Attended public school, No. 8, on the
Bronson Line, Hay Township. In
1883 she was received into member-
ship of Zion Lutheran church, Dash-
wood. by corufirmation. On Map 8,
1888, she was married to Louis Kalb-
flei ch, eldest son of Henry and
Louisa Halbfleisch, after whiah she
resided on the iKalbfleisch 'homestead
on the 161thconcession of Hay Town-
ship. In February of the past year
she removed with her husband to
Zurich to the residence of her daug-
hter. Although in failing health for
many year's, she always remained
buoyant and cheerful. Her final
illness was only of six day's duration
and death 'came ,peacefully at 7.30
p.m. on the evening of August 4th.
A private :service alt her late resid-
ence at 2.30 p.rn. Friday, August
7th, was followed by a public mem
orial service in St. Peter's Lutheran
church, after which .interment foll-
owed in .the Goshen Line Cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her dose her
husband and seven clnildren three
sons and four daughters -Edward,
living on the'old homesteaa; Laura,
Mrs Fred Habetrer, of near Zurich;
Albert, hardware Merchant of Zur-
ich; Josephine, Mrs, Victor Deicher•.t
of neer Statfa; (Prof.) Herbert, of
London; Clara, Mrs. Bert Klopp, of
near Zurich; Mildred, Mrs. W. H.
Brokenshire, of Zurich One daugh-
ter predeceased her in infancy; also
t7 grand children.; a sister, Mrs Icy
LaPond, Pigeon, Maedi; three broth-
ers, Jacob: and William Schumacher
of Pigeon, Mich; and Jelin of Park
hill, as well as ahost of friends and
acquaintances.
