Health Has Unproved About a year ago Mr, and Mrs. Jacob Swartzentruber of the Bron - on line sold their farm •and since have been staying with their daugh- ters and son -in-laws on account of 1I1.. Swartzentruber's ill health. We are greatlypleased to report that °,T; ;, Swortz'entruber is able to look after her house duties again and they have recently moved in part of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gingerich's house of the Bronson line, where they will HAYFIELD Soldiers Honored A social evening was held in the Bayfield town hall on April 26th when two more of GAM 'brave boys who have enlisted' in the army for active service namely, Grant Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner of Goderich and Hurter Clarke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Clarke, Bayfield. The gathering took the form of an informal dance and a social hour' followed at which time a presentat- ion was made to the two boys from the community 'acrd anaddress rear' by Mrs. Gairdner, president of the Red Cross Society, as follows: —Once more we meet in this hap- py ind'orrnal way --just at Bayfield is always ready to do honor to her•own soldiers and tonight we have two of them with us again. We are: indeed interested in our own boys; we are not rich in money; but I know of no place: where hearts go out iM under- standing and sympathy as they do here, and when it comes tu; Hayfield's pride, well!—"There is S:'emething a- bout a Soldier." We aree proud of them. They come back so full of dignified hearing. I'm sure they are not like the soldier who returned; home, and when asked why he was so erect said: "Aw,, it's nothing, its the drills, you haw to be obedj+ent, that's all; for .instance if you hear the command `Hatt' given when your left foot is in the air, all you have to do is brim' your right foot up to it, and stand :motionless." These boys look as though they do more than that. It •3s particularly fitting and. with personal regard that we honor you bu .:s tonight—it takes courag6, devotion, and heroism to play the part; you are going to play; but like all great games of life, it is how you play them that counts. We add your names to our honor Roll and will follow your careers with the greatest of personal interest So now we present these gifts of esteem from your friends in 'Bay- field. (The gifts were, a pen and pencil set, two pr, socks and a swe- ater.) Good Luck and Happy Land- ing Boys. The boys replied in a very fitting way. Music was supplied by Mrs. his. Ferguson, Mrs. Fred Mc - Ewan at the piano; Mr. Geo. Weston violin and Lindsay 'Smith floof man- ager. Jerome Bedour favoured the gathering with .several solos.
