Misses Margaret Glenn and Ellen
Fremlin, and Martha Thiel, as hoS-
tess to a number of friends enter-
tained in honor of Miss Reta Fleisch-

with a miscellaneous shower. The
presentation address was given by
Mrs C. L. Smith. . After the opening

delicious luncheon was served.
An Early Spring
While farmers are not tilling the
sell in March, as we have already
heard of it being the case, yet we
are experierv;ing an early spring re-
gardless of th b steely winter and
heavy rains some time ago. The
fishermen at Hayfield set their nets
on March 24th, the earliest in years,
at goderich two weeks ago an oil
tanker boat had worked its way up
the lake from Sarnia and unloaded a
cargo of ell, and .there is practically
no frost to be found coming oust of
the ground, so there cam* be any
in the earth. All manner of nature
is shaping up for an early spring, if
the weather will warm up seeding
operations will soon be on the way,
Most of our summer birds have been
hoe; for several weeks and are here
to stay. So what else can we say
but spring is right with us.
