The auction sale of Farm Stock .and implements of Mr. A. Melick on Tuesday was very largely attended. Cars were parked on the roadsides for a long way, and many people vis- ited the scene of activity. As a re- sult, good prives were realized; we are getting back to the good old days when livestock is worth more than in times of depression, as one cow went for $11'8. we are told. Mr. Melick will now live in retirement in Zurich, having farmed for many ye- ars, and worked hard during this time. SETTLE FOR $2,500. Thomas Heatnan, who for half -a - century conducted a woodwarking shop about a mile south of Exeter, died recently after a brief illness. He was in his 82nd year, his wife pre- deceased hint and a son and adaught- er survive.
