The seven pupils from our
Junior class helped to choose a
Christmas tree from Mr. Tomes'
store in Centralia. Our custodian,
Mr. Rook set it up for us in the
hallway and the children spent
most of the week adding decor-
ations to it. Mr. Tomes• sent back
candy canes to hang on the tree
too.
A photographer from the Times
Advocate took pictures of some
of our pupils in front of our tree.
Besides making decorations
for the tree our children have
been making table decorations
which they have presented to
our secretary,' Mrs. Regan and
to Mr. Siertsema, the principal
of the McCurdy School.
Several snow scenes, painted
on black paper were sent in to the
Independent News. We are
hoping they will choose one of
then for their special Christmas
edition.
The senior class has become
quite adept at using a sewing
maching and each child made
his or her own felt stocking which
Santa will no doubt fill on Christ-
mas morning.
Eight of our puipils complete
with costumes presented a short
Nativity play based on a spiritual
song called "Mary Had a Baby".
It was so well received by the
Kindergarten class that it was
presented a second time, this
time on the stage for the children
of Mrs. Mills' grade one and two
class. The children took their
parts very seriously and re-
membered to sing out so that
their voices could be heard.
Eight Secondary Students
turned out last week to help
with the skating. We will look
forwardto their assistance again.
Mr. Davebieman, Huron
County's Media Co-ordinator
has ageed to come to our school
sometime in January to make a
video tape of various parts of
our program. The children should
enjoy seeing themselves on the
TV screen after the film has been -..._
edited.
I was speaking with Santa
Claus last week and he is looking
forward mto being with us on
Friday morning. He has been
coming for a number of years
now and we feel very fortunate
that he can take the time to be
with us..
School will be dismissed on
December 19th at 2:00 p.m. and
resume again on January 5, 1976.
Happy Holiday.
Sincerely,
Eleanor Scott
