Flyers on scoring spree
defeat Huron Park 15w2

In the past week the Zurich
Flyers played three games in
S.H.H.L. play. The Flyers drop-
ped the two road games to Park-
hill 10-7 and to the Shipka Colon-
ials 5-3.
On Sunday afternoon in the
local arena, the tide turned and
the Flyers finally came to life by
upending Huron Park 15-2.

Zurich crew to get started as they
fired in two goals in 0:35 seconds
from the opening whistle. Derek
O'Brien scored at the 17 second
mark on passes from Kevin
McKinnon and Ron Corriveau.
Only 18 seconds later Ron Des-
jardine blinked the light on a pass
from Pat Bedard. The Flyers
made it 3-0 before the period
ended as Glen Overholt scored
on an unassisted effort.
The Flyers scored six times in
the middle stanza.. At 5:18
Richard Schilbe scored his first
of three, with the lone assist
being credited to Ron Rader.
Derek O'Brien then scored on the
power play at 8:45 with the assist
going to Ron Corriveau.. The
Flyers scored four more times
after this on goals by King McKin-
non, Paul Corriveau, Ken Smale
and Ron Desjardine to give them
an 8-0 lead after two periods.
At 2:03 of the final period
Richard Schilbe scored his second
of the gave on set up by Ron
Corriveau and Bob Farqhuar.
Farghuar then scored at 4:55 with
the assists going to Ron Rader
and Rick Schilbe. Only 41 seconds
later Zurich had a 12-0 lead on
a goal by Paul Corriveau. Huron
Park finally broke Jim Wilfong's
bid for a shutout as Bob Parsons
blinked the light with assists from
Ian Fowtes and Terry Underhill.
Desjardine scored his hatrick at
8:19 with the lone assist going to
Glen Overholt. At 10:05 Ron
Corriveau fired in a shot from
Derek O'Brien. The Park scored

with the Flyers picking 51 of
them.
The next Zurich home game
will be played this Friday night
at 8:30 p.m. when first place
Parkhill cone to town.

Fire Department to the rural area of Hay Township

The Police Village of Dashwood has been unable to
negotiate an acceptable contract with Hay Township
for fire protection service and is therefore forced
to discontinue offering fire protection to this
area.
To those affected within Hay Township, please
contact your Township Clerk for information as to
where you should phone in case of future fire
protection requirements.
