Slight injury nly i or rnishaps Constable Dale Lamont listed damages at $50 when vehicles driven by James Cianci, London and Anne Kennedy, Exeter collided on Highway 84 in Hensall at the sewer construction detour. Damages were set again at $50 by Constable Frank Giffin when vehicles driven by Pearl McLinchey, Parkhill and Leroy Maguire, RR 1, Centralia collided at Mt. Carmel, Thursday at 10.30. At 10 p.m. the same day, a vehicle driven Helen McCann, RR 3, Dashwood knocked over a stop sign at Shipka. Constable Ed Wilcox listed damages at $25. Friday at 2.25 p.m. a vehicle driven Wendy Phillips. Exeter struck the ditch on Concession 2 of Stephen township south of Huron street. Constable Lewis Most of the accidents invest- igated this week by officers of the Exeter detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were of the Trainor variety. The most serious occurred Sunday afternoon at 12.40 p.m. when a vehicle driven by William Gilbert of Simcoe, left Highway 4, just south of the Crediton road and knocked over several fence posts, Gilbert was not seriously injured but was taken to South Huron Hospital by Hoffman's Ambulance for treatment. Wednesday at 9.50 a.m. Teachers told no cost bonus Due to the anti-inflation guide- lines the cost of living allowance cannot be considered this term for the elementary teachers under the jurisdiction of the Huron - Perth County Roman Catholic Separate School Board. Stratford trustee Howard Shantz, chairman of the person- nel committee, informed the board members at a meeting in Dublin Monday night that his committee had discussed with the salary negotiating committee of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association in Huron and Perth, the directive attached to the 1975-76 agreement signed last May. He said the two committees agreed no further action can be taken to explore the feasibility of a cost of living allowance as called for in the directive in the present agreement. An increase of 33 cents per hour, the maximum allowable under the wage guidelines, was approved for the office clerk - typists in the various shools. The increase, retro -active to Septem- ber 1, 1975, will raise their wages to $3.63 per hour. Board chairman, David Teahen of Stratford, informed the mem- bers that he and John Vintar, Director of Education, would be attending a special meeting in Toronto on December 18, called by the Minister of Education, Thomas Wells. Mr. Teahen said that the meet- ing is to be attended by board chairmen and Directors of Educa- tion across Ontario but that neither he nor Mr. Vintar had. been given any indication as to what the meeting is about. The inaugural meeting will be held on January 5, 1976. Lay charges after two breakins Charges have been laid follow- ing investigations into theft and break-in incidents reported to Ontario Provincial Police officers at the Exeter detachment a week ago. Two youths have been charged with a breakin at the 54 to $1 store in Hensall and one youth faces charges of stealing a cigarette lighter from the Star- dust Drive-in at Crediton. In thefts this week, Constable Don Mason is investigating a number of thefts of Christmas tree light bulbs from homes in Huron Park. Constable Bill Lewis reports minor damages during a recent breakin at a garage building owned by the Ontario Develop- ment Corporation at Huron Park. Nothing was taken. Several juveniles have been apprehended following reports of shoplifting at Craig's Store in the vicinity of Huron Park. Constable Bill McIntyre is investigating the theft of a diamond ring from a private residence. estimated damages at $200. Constable Jim Rogers invest- igated a minor mishap on High- way 83 at the Goshen Line, Sunday at 2.20 a.m. Damages were $50 and the drivers involved were Larry Shapton, RR 1, Exeter and Larry MacGregor, RR 3, Dashwood. Monday at 12.20 p,m. a vehicle driven by Larry Hern, RR 1, Granton left Huron street East in Usborne township due to slippery road conditions. Constable Lewis listed damages at$200.
