elect officers
Thirty members and Pastor
Blackwell were present for the
Christmas meeting of the Luther-
an Church Women on Tuesday
evening, December 9.
The committee for the month
of December, Mrs. Ray Fisher,
Mrs. Jim Parkins, Mrs. Arnold
Merner, Mrs. Claire Deichert,
and Mrs. Harvey Hohner present-
ed the program "A Christmas
Heritage Tour."
Christmas customs from many
lands such as New Amsterdam,
Germany, Italy, Scandinavia,
the Spanish Southwest, and the
various traditions of the people
of our North ,American Contin-
ent were presented.
Christmas carols from many
lands were sung accompanied
by Mrs. Jack Turkheim.
Following the program the bus-
iness meeting was conducted
by Mrs. Harvey Hohner.
The November committee
reported having made fifteen
calls to sick and shut-ins.
Gifts and donations were rec-
eived for the Children's Aid.
Plans were made to pack good
cheer boxes on Friday, Decemb-
er 19. Donations for boxes
may be left at the residence of
Rev. and Mrs. Blackwell or at the
church by noon Friday.
The annual meeting was cond-
ucted by Rev. Blackwell. Presi-
dent Mrs. Harvey Hohner read
her report of the various meet-
ings and activities of the group
for the year 1975. Mrs. Herb
Klopp reported for the nominat-
ing committee. Mrs. Carl Wiltert
kindly consented to serve as
secretary for another two year
term, and Mrs. J.W. Haberer
as treasurer for another two
years. '
During the fellowship hour
delicious Christmas goodies were
served by the committee in
charge.
Rev. and Mrs. A.C. Blackwell
were presented with a gift in rec-
ognition of their untiring efforts
in the organization.
The next regular Lutheran
Church Women,'s meeting will
be held at the. Blue Water Rest
Home, on Tuesday, January
13 at 7 p.m., when a birthday
party will be presented for the
ladies and gentlemen of the
home.
