Flyers score two wins

On Sunday, November 23 the
Zurich Flyers opened their 1975-
76 home ice season with a 7-3
win over the Exeter Mohawks.
The Mohawks playing with only
eight players mounted a strong
cutback to upset the Flyers.
7.xeter opened the scoring at
17:31 of the first period when
Larry Willert converted on passes
from Jack Glover and Gary Pars-
ons. Two minutes and ten sec-
onds later at 19:41 Exeter scored
again with Parsons blinking the
light on a pass from Willert to
make it 2-0 for Exeter after one
period. At 3:55 of the second
period Exeter made it 3-0 on an
unassisted effort by Allen Knight.
Zurich hit the scoreboard
for the first time in the game
at 6.08 of the period with Desj-
ardine scoring from Pat Bedard
and Rich Schilbe. Exeter then
scored three more goals; one
at 8.35 with Parsons scoring
his second of the game from Glan-
ville and Glover, then at 10,15
with Glanville connecting from
Brad Datars and Larry Willert
and at 16.08 with Kyle from
Willert and Glanville.
Zurich came on near the end
of the second period scoring
two goals within one minute and

The Zurich Flyers scored a
5-3 victory over Thedford in
South Huron Intermediate
hockey league play in Thedford
Thursday night.
The Flyers jumped into an
early 3-0 lead after twenty
minutes of play and were able
to hold on to the lead for the
'lalance of the game.
The game was less than five
minutes old when Ron Desjardine
fired the puck into the Thedford
net on a play set up by Jim Ram-
er and Pat Bedard.

Exeter stopped Zurich's bid for
a comeback.
ZURICH 5- CENTRALIA 3
On Monday, November 24
the Flyers posted a 5-3 come
from behind home ice victory
over Centralia College.
The College opened the scor-
ing at 6.38 of the first period
when Brad Spiers blinked the
light on assists from Jim Davis
and Gary Hudson. They scored
again at 18.45 on a power play
with Derrick Martin converting
on a pass from Gerald Spruyt
and Fred Munro.
Zurich scored early in the
second period to cut the marg-
in to 2-1 when Bob Farquhar
slapped in a pass from Pat
Bedard. The College then scored
their third and last goal of the
game at 1.43 as Jim Davis
scored with the lone assist going
to Gary Hudson. Zurich scored
one more goal before the period
ended at 14.48 as Paul Corriveau
scored on passes from Ron
Corriveau and Ron Rader. The;
teams skated off after two per-
iods with the College holding
a 3-2 lead.
In the third period the Flyers
came to life scoring two goals
within 19 seconds. The first
marker tied the game at 15.05
when Ron Corriveau scored on
a setup from Dave Cyr. Their
next quick goal came at 15.24
with Richard Schilbe firing in a
goal with the only assist being
credited to Ron Corriveau.
The Flyers ended the scoring
with 43 seconds left in the game,
when Ron Rader scored on a pass
from Paul Corriveau to give
Zurich their 5-3 victory.
Nine minors were called in the
game by referees Singleton and

Campbell with Zurich drawing
eight of them along with a
major and a misconduct.
The first star of the game was
Paul Corriveau of Zurich; the sec-
ond star Gerald Spruyt of the
College and the third star Ron
Corriveau of the Flyers.
Next Flyer home game will be
this Sunday, November 30 at
2 p.m. when Shipka comes to
town.
