Haberer were pleasantly surprised on Saturday evening when their family invited relatives and friends to their home on the occasion of their fortieth wedding anniversary. Karl Haberer and the former Helen Thiel were married at St. Peter's Lutheran Parsonage in Zurich by Rev. E. Turkheim on November 23, 1935. They spent most of these years farming on conces- sion ten, Hay Township, until 1972 when they moved to Zurich. Karl is presently employed as Hay township road superintendent, a position he has held since 1972. They have two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Marilyn) Heimrich of Zurich and Mrs. Milo (Ruth) Stevenson of London. They also have - five grandchildren. Mrs. Hazel Corbett assisted t Vice Grand. The usual donations to the Home in Barrie and the child- ren's Aid Society were forwarded also the donation to the United Nations, the "Speak Off"to be held in February. The annual Christmas party will be held in the Lodge hall on December 3 with an exchange of gifts. The "Secret Pal" party will be held in January.
