(News Photo) Queen's Guineas show The southern portion of Huron County will be well represented at the Queen's Guineas 4-H calf show which is held in conjun- ction with the Royal Winter Fair now on in Toronto. Huron's 4-H director Len McGregor told the News Monday morning that 14 young men and women from South Huron would be competing at the Royal, Friday morning. (ALSO FORM WORK) McCann Co sW. Ltd. The calves are being trucked to Toronto Thursday and the 4-H members will be busy preparing their animals for the showings which begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday. Jim Siddall of Kirkton is in charge of the trucking to Toronto. A champion and reserve cham- pion from each of five classes will be selected in the early judging and qualify for the Queens Guineas title which will be announced shortly before noon, Friday. The judge for the Queen's Guineas -show is Warren Smith of Olds, Alberta. This year marks the 62nd year that 4-H has been in exist- ence in Canada. Lot g By The eSide Mecit Market 236•- 4962 ZURICH LB Stephen discuss park area Stephen township council learned Tuesday night that the Ausable-Bayfield Conservation Authority is planning an open meeting in thenear future to discuss development of the recently acquired park area, just east of Crediton. The meeting will allow local residents to forward their ideas for future use of the proposed recreational area. Stephen Authority representative Joseph Dietrich attended along with Ausable officials. Clerk Wilrnar Wein was instructed to issue licences for all food serving premises in the township. Inspections will be made by the Huron County Health Unit. Council set fees $200 for the first hour and 5100 for any additional hours for the services of the Stephen township fire department when called to a car fire on a county or provincial road. A grant of 5900 was made to the Huron Park Minor Hockey Association and the salary of a figure skating professional will be paid by council.
