The main business of the even- ing was the election of officers. However, all the present officers were returned to serve until the end of June 1976. Those are president, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Makins, vice-president, Harry Baker, treasurer, Mrs. Bill Parker; secretary Mrs. Jean Bell; card and flower secretary Mrs. Dorothy Weston; press secretary Mrs. L.W Scotchmer; telephone committee Mrs. L.W. Scotch - mer, Mrs. Roy Scotchmer, Mrs. Lyle Hill and Mrs. Delbert Haw were added to the telephone com- mittee to assist the other two ladies. The annual Christmas dinner party was set for Thursday even- ing, November 27 at 6 p.m, in the United Church basement. The two guests who attended the meeting, Mrs. Les Cox and Dorothy Cox, joined the senior citizens and were welcomed into the club. Following the business session, Mr. Jack Hughes showed numer- ous slides of scenes in Bayfield, Western Canada and parts of the United States. He was given a vote of thanks for sharing his beautiful pictures to the gather- ing. A few games of euchre were then played with prizes going to Mrs. Jean Bell, Mrs. Harold Penhale, Percy Johnston, Bill Heard and to Mrs. Lyle Hill who won the lone hand prize. Mr. Penhale is president of the Bayfield Ag- riculture Society and Mrs. Graham is the secretary. Mrs. Judy Ball was the guest speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Rob Irwin and Robbie, London; Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon and Andrew and Mrs. Bill Orr were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Erickson, Andrew, Luanne and Lydia, and honoured Luanne on her seventh birthday. Mr. Gilbert Latimer, Weston, spent the weekend with his grandmother, Mrs. G.L. Knight. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cluff, Rob and Tara, London were weekend guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred LeBeau. Mr. and Mrs. Alf McLaughlin visited last week in Toronto with Mrs. Vicki McLaughlin, Meagan, Alfie and Courtney. Mr. Steve Scotchmer, Molly Jody, St. Catherines, Mr. Mich- ael Scotchmer and a friend, Toronto and Mr. Calvin Scotch - mer of London were the guests of their father, A.F. Scotchmer or the weekend. Robert Sowerby, Goderich, ailed on Mrs.. Milton Pollock, Goshen Line on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Craig isited with her brother Fred teep, R.R.5, Clinton on Sunday. President Joan Merner presid- ed for the business session. It was decided to assist the Ladies Aux- iliary fina.nciµl;y with the Brown- ies and also to do same' rhr t- mas decorating on Main Street. Carol Penhale was chosen as chairman of a committee to work with the Bayfield Centennial Committee. She is to attend the centennial meeting on Wed- nesday evening, November 19 as the Lionettes representative. Formation Night will take place on Friday, November 21 at the Clinton Legion Hall. Milton Pollock, Goshen Line, on Sunday and celebrated the eighty-sixth birthday of Mr. Ernie Pollock. Mr. Howard Scotchmer, Chatham, was in the village on Tuesday last and was a pall- bearer at the funeral for hie late father's step mother, Mrs. Margaret Scotchmer. Mr. Norman F. Cooper, Mount Clemens, Michigan, spent the weekend at her residence on Clan Gregor Square. Members and interested per- sons are reminded of the regular meeting of the Bayfield Histor- ical Society on Monday evening, November 10 at 8 p.m. in the municipal building. Guest speak- er will be Nick Hill of Auburn, president of the Architectural Conservancy, who will show slides of his trip to Sicily. Girls bake rolls, buns (by Joanne Chapman) On October 22 we held our fourth meeting at Mrs. Phoenix home. We started with the roll call. We discussed Canada's Food Guide. We made rolls and buns. Patti Greer made bow knots; Diane Garrett made parker house rolls; Anne Talbot made snails Cathy Leppington made clover leafs; Sherri Phoenix made fan tans; Joanne Chapman made figure eights.
