At Huron Park, Tuesday, the South Huron seniors blanked the Goderich Vikings 22-0 and the SH juniors downed Listowel by a score of 19-10. In Saturday's final rounds, the juniors will be meeting Goderich at 12 noon and the seniors will follow at 2 p.m. with Central Huron of Clinton suiplying the opposition. In Tuesday's junior game, South Huron led 4-0 at the end of the first quarter when List- owel conceded two safety touches to get better field position. The score went to 6-0 in the second period on another safety touch. Late in the second half Jeff O'Brien recovered two fumbled punts to .keep South Huron in good scoring position but the off- ence failed to move the ball well. On the next play, Paul Pooley ran up the middle for a touch- down. Steve Beer converted and the score was 13.0. Late in the third quarter, Ted Triebner intercepted a Listowel pass to hold the opposition at bay. Before time ran out in the quarter, South Huron conceded a safety touch. In the fourth period, Paul Pooley put the Panthers into good scoring position with a 68 yard `gallop and three plays later went 18 yards for a major score, Listowel came back quickly with a touchdown and a two point convert but it was the last scoring threat they could get roll- ing. Paul Gaiser and Brad Taylor led the South Huron defensive with a number of key tackles. After a shaky start, the seniors settled down and quickly took control of the game. Good running by Brian Taylor and Doug Mclsaac put the Pan- thers on the Goderich 15 yard line and the first point came when a field goal attempt by Paul Brooks went wide. In the second quarter again good advances on the ground put the ball in scoring position and Doug Mcisaac went over from four yards out. Paul Broom., converted and the score was 8-0, Later in the same period, Brian Taylor busted over from the same distance and Brooks again conv- erted. The final scoring of the game came in the final period when quarterback John Van Gerwen hit Gord Baird with a 17 yard pass good for a touchdown. Steve Knight was successful with the convert attempt.
