The second meeting of
the Hensall 4-H Club was held
on October 21 at the Hensall
United Church. The roll call, 1
a basic ingredient for bread
and what it does, was answ-
ered by 12 girls. Mrs. Pepper
demonstrated baking and the
rising of basic white bread.
Everyone sat down and sampl-
ed the freshly baked brown
and white bread. Some white
bread was sent home for par-
en_ts to taste.

St. Joseph 's Hospital, London
on Tuesday, September 30,
1975. Mr. Middleton was the
beloved husband of Gertrude
Robertson Currie of Wingham
and the late Margaret Jean
Woods, of Bayfield. Also
survived by one son Robert
Woods Middleton, Wingham
and two grandchildren and
one brother George Coates
Middleton, Birmingham,
Michigan.
Bob was a well known
Pharmacist in Hensall and
later as Mi�r?1Fto, Dr�Ltd.,
Exeter. He was past pres-
ident of the Hensall Chamber
of Commerce and was very
active in forming the Hensall
Curling Club. The Chamber
of Commerce was respons-
ible for the Hensall arena, the
Baseball Park with night
lighting, the Fiddler's contest
and the Bean Festival; they
were also successful in hav-
ing the General Coach Works
Ltd., now Bendix Home
Systems Ltd., locate in Hen-
sall. While a member of the
Village Councl the Hensall
Waterworks was installed.
Mr. Middleton will be
greatly missed for his interest
in the affairs of the
communith. A member of St.
Paul's Anglican church for
many years the funeral service
was held Thursday,
October 24, 1975 with the
_Rector, the Rev. George A.
Terson in charge.
Interment was in the Bay-
field cemetery.

Welfare Cheques
Due to the mail strike, welfare cheques may be picked
up Friday October 31 at Municipal Clerks' offices,
except for the Townships of Ashfield, Colborne,
Goderich and the Town of Goderich where they may be
picked up at the Social Services office.

REMEMBRANCE DAY
The 4-H Girls will be selling
poppies in Hensall on Satur-
day, November 8, for Rem-
embrance Day. A special
Remembrance Day Service
will be held at St. Paul's
Anglican Church on Sunday
November 9, at 9:45 a.m.
and following that, Legion
members will be parading
at the Cenotaph at 11 a.m.
when wreaths will be laid. A
short service will be held at
the Cenotaph.
Unit II of Hensall United
Church will be meeting on
Monday, November 3, ins-
tead of November 10. This
I will take the form of a pot-
luck supper at 7 p.m. and all
members are asked to invite
a friend.

Service and preached on the
topic "Doing Love" dwell-
ing on the two greatest com-
mandments, loving God and
loving our neighbour. Mrs,
John Turkheim was at the
organ, and the choir sang the
anthem, "Jubilate, Amen,"
The flowers were from the
funeral of Mr. George Thomp-
son. Following the service,
Howard Scane, on behalf
of the congregation, present-
ed Harry Hoy with a shaving
kit, the occasion being Harrys
retirement after many years
as church caretaker.
