Mrs. Sadie Wren has ret- urned from a pleasant trip to B.C. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Mellis, Levonia, Michigan and Mrs. Margaret Hutchison of St. Thomas visited with Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Mellis. Mr. Kenneth Jones and Miss Anne Bolton of Kempt- ville spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Jones. COUNTY RALLY NOTES Mrs. Stewart Pepper, Mrs. Vern Alderdice, Mrs. Robert Kinsman and Mrs. Grace Drummond attended the Hur- on County Rally in Belgrave on Monday. Mrs. Walter Scott gave the history of quilts and commented on the many old and new quilts on display. Members will gain contribute to the Children's Aid Bursary. Mrs. D. Haines commented on the bus trip to the National Convention. Miss J. Pengilley made the presentation to Mary Edith Holland, the winner of the Huron County Scholarship. Huron South will be hostess for the 1976.County Rally. KIPPEN EAST Mr. Don Pullen, Huron County's Agriculture Repres- entative was guest speaker at Kippen East Women's Institute meeting which was held at the home of Mrs. Charles Eyre in Egmondville. Mr. Pullen discussed farming in Huron County stating that Huron had the most improv- ed farm land of all the count- ies in Ontario. He also com- mented on the services avail- able. He was introduced by Mrs. R. Bell and Mrs. G. McLean thanked Mr. Pullen and presented him with a small gift. Mrs. Ernest White- house was in charge of the program and opened with a reading "Yesterday". Mrs. H. Caldwell commented on the motto, "Take time to stand and stare at the wonders everywhere." The roll call was answered by naming a product we would lack if the farmer never came back. Mrs. G. Drummond, Public Relations Officers, present- ed a gift to, Mrs. McGregor, Mrs. Beane, Mrs. Collins and Lynn Alderdice. 4-H leaders of the garden club. Mrs. H. Caldwell gave the current events and Mrs. V. Alderdice gave the report of the County Rally held in Belgrave. Mrs. Al Hoggarth, first vice president, chaired the business portion and gave a poem "What is a farmer?" Mrs. R. Bell conducted a cont- est, Mrs. C. Pullman gave courtesy remarks, Mrs. Grant McLean and Mrs. Al Hog- garth served a delicious lunch. Hensall Brucefield fire departments responded to a call on Saturday night about 10 p.m. from John and Doug McGregor when their dryer became overheated. Harper who has been county auditor for many years, has now become associated with MacGillivary and Company, Chartered Accountants of Listowel, MacGillivary and Company.
