Mrs. Vernon Schatz, who
has been hospitalized at St.
Joseph's Hospital, London,
has returned home following
surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Roland Gib-
son and girls, Komoka, spent
the weekend with Mrs. Frieda
Keller.
Mr, and Mrs. John Champ-
agne and Roger and family,
Caseville, Michigan, visited
with their aunt, Mrs. Hilda
Wein who will celebrate her
80th birthday this week.
Mr. and Mrs. •Herbert
Bills, Cass City, Michigan;
Mr. and Mrs. Russ Jacobs,
Bay City, Michael, Brian and
Julie Bills spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Rader and called ' on their
aunt, Mrs. Hilda Wein.
John Hartleib, 85 -year old
Michigan resident, who was
born in Dashwood and has not
been here for 12 years was in
Dashwood Sunday visiting
familiar places and noting the
many changes here. His son,
John, brought him for the
day.
Rev. and Mrs. Bruce
Seebach and fancily, Kitch-
ener, were Sunday visitors
with Mrs. Cora Gaiser.
Jayne Hayter and Brian
Rader accompanied John
Barz and Becky Barz, God-
erich to a Youth Retreat for
young Lutherans at Angola,
N.Y. over the weekend.
Dr, and Mrs. A.C. Whittier
and family, ' Mississauga,
Susan Whittier, Toronto;
and Maggie Whittier,,London,
visited with Mrs. Hilda Wein
Saturday, September 4,
and had a pre -birthday cele-
bration for their mother and
grandmother prior to Dr.
and Mrs. Whittier lezving for
Paris Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Wolfe
spent the weekend at South-
ampton with Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Eagleson.

returned ome following a week
spent at Malaga on the south-
ern coast of Spain. They
accompanied International
Harvester dealers and their
wives from across Canada.
They visited several places
-of interest to view the ancient
cultures of Spanish history in
Granada, Ronda and Marbella
They also went by hydrofoil to
Tangiers, Morocco to view
the African cultures particul-
arly exciting was to travel
through the old streets of the
Kasbah.
Laurie, Kathy and Joe Beck-
er spent last week with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Fahner.
Mrs. Ray Rader, Mrs. Hilda
Rader and Mrs. Martha
Miller attended the Fall
Rally at Belgrave, Monday
when 140 ladies registered.
4-H CLUB
Club No II of Dashwood
4-H girls gathered at Dash-
wood Community Centre for
their first meeting of "Let's
Bake Bread." Thirteen girls
were present and leader, Mrs.
Ray Rader and assistant,
Mrs. Ear] Keller. Election of
officers' was as follows,
president, Elizabeth Datars;
vice-president, Teresa Van-
Raay; secretary, Barbara Rad-
er; treasurer, Patti Rader;
press reporter, Jayne Hayter.
The girls decided to have
their record books light blue
duo -tangs. Roll call was.
"What is your favourite
Bread?" Mrs. Rader discuss-
ed pioneer breradmaking,
recipe files and measuring.
Mrs. Keller discussed recoid
books and what goes in a
loaf of bread.
The leaders demonstrated
how to make freezer bread.
The girls sampled freezer
bread made from graham
flour.
The second meeting was
held at Mrs. Rader's home.
The roll cal: was a basic ing-
redient of bread. The name for
the club is "Yeaster Bunnies.'
Mrs. Rader made white bread
and the girls helped her put
it in the pans. Mrs, Keller
discussed freezer bread and
put it to bake. The girls
sampled the freezer bread.
