begin season
in 4-H work
(by Betty Pennings)
Our first meeting in 4-H
of the Zurich V Club was held
at the home of Mrs. Agnes
Lempriere on September
17. We elected our presi-
dent Joanne McBride and our
secretary treasurer. Brenda
McKinley. We then started
in the making o1' freezer
whole wheat bread in which
everybody participated . in
some way. We then covered
it and transferred it to the
freezer. The results will be
seen at the next meeting.
We also learned new kneading
techniques and the proper
tools and equipment for bak-
ing. With this our first
meeting was adjourned.
On September 24 our
second meeting was held at
Agnes Lcmpriere. At this
meeting we chose Betty
Pepnings as our press report-
er. We also decided upon our
club name which is the
"Dough -Dolls." It was sug-
gested by Janet McKinley.
Again we all helped in the
making of basic white bread.
Mrs. Lemprierc showed us
how to judge bread. After
this we tasted our brcad from
the first meeting and two
other types - brown bread and
muffins. Most of us liked all
three but some preferred the
white bread over the brown.
With this our meeting was
adjourned.
