Zurich Citizens News, 1975-09-11, Page 6Page 6 - Zurich Citizens News, September 11, 1975 Zurich institute hear from nurse (by Mrs. Eileen Consitt) The Zurich Women's Institute met on Monday evening, September 8, for their first meeting of the fall season. Mrs. W. Neeb and Mrs. T. Meyers were in charge of the program. Miss Linda Thompson, Kippen, played several piano numbers and poems from the "Ideals on Autumn" and "What's a Friend" were given by Mrs. T. Meyers. Mrs. Neeb introduced Miss J. Dunsford, Exeter, who is a public health nurse with the Huron County Health Unit, who told of its work in providing health and plumbing inspection and the Golden Glimpses services available in the nursing department to all ages in the county. The treasurer reported $184. cleared at the booth at the Bean Festival in Aug- ust. Delegates were appointed to the Fall Rally at Belgrave and the Area Convention at St. Thomas. A donation of $15 was given to the Muscular Dyst- rophy Association. A dinner to be catered to in October was planned for with Group II committee in charge, and a bus trip in October was also discussed. Mrs. Ina Neeb reported four of senior members had Rl'.3E '014 TER REST HOME Ark So many people have rem- arked, "where has the sum- mer gone?" Lets hope that we have some fal weather we can enjoy, since the weather- man hasn't given vacationers much of a break over the past few weeks. Like most places, when fall rolls around every- thing seems to get back to normal, the regular staff are back on duty and fall prog- rams fall into place. Even though the weather has been so cold and wet, we did manage to arrange a bus ride last week for the residents along the lake and in and around Goderich. Weath- er permitting, we hope to arrange regular outings so that the residents can enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery to the fullest. The sympathy of residents and staff is extended to the family of the late Mr. Peter Eisenbach. On Tuesday, September 2, the Auxiliary began their fall activities. The residents were entertained to a most enjoyable evening. Mrs. Martha Blackwell, Mrs. Rose Regier and Mrs. Mary Ging- erich convened the meeting. The residents were welcome The residents were wel- comed to the program, follow- ed by a flower quiz, tap dancing numbers by t the Bedard children, Miss Louise Regier favoured with a piano solo and a foot ball quizz was conducted. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Oesch favoured with a duet accompanied on the piano by Mr. Albert Erb. This was followed by a fash- ion show of hats made from Kitchen utensils. Mrs. Mary Gingerich was narrator. Following the program, raspberry, blueberry and cherry cheesecake and tea and coffee were served. During refrshment time, Douglas Klopp presided at the .piano and played quiet music. We regret that Mrs. Rose Russell is a patient in Univ- ersity Hospital, London. We are very grateful for the donations of fruit and veg- etables received from so many thoughtful people. Merner and Mrs. Tetreau, were presented with gifts of plants. Nineteen members answer- ed the roll call by telling, of an interesting place visited this summer, five visitors were present. Cards were signed to be sent to two members who are ill --Mrs. Wes Merner and Mrs. Marg- aret Hess. About people Mrs. Eileen Consitt ac- companied Mr. and Mrs. Jim Consitt and family to Niagara Falls and the Thous- and Islands, New York State last week. Mrs. Arabelle Merner is a patient in St. Joseph's Hosp- ital, London. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mc Adams, Mrs. Tetreau and Mrs. Pask called at Tommy Hudsons and family, at Harrisville, Sunday. Rev. L.H. Kalbfleisch cond- ucted the funeral of the late Herman Leonhardt on Tues- day, September 2 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brodhagen, and also the reg- ular service on Sunday morning, September 7, in the absence of the regular pastor, Rev. Arthur Horst. MARRIED IN ZURICH Carol Ann Gascho and Brian Charles Belehamber were married in Emmanuel United Church, Zurich, on August 9. Rev. Bruce Guy performed the ceremony. Barry Bel - chamber, brother of the groom, was best man. Marilyn Geiger, sister of the bride, was matron of honour. The couple arc living in London where Brian is stationed with the Canadian Armed Forces and Carol is entering her final year of Physio -Therapy at the University of Western Ontario.
