Already business has about
doubled. He has photograph-
ed about 400 farms from the
air, 50 were on order when
taken, and he expects to sell
around 100,
Brian has a special techni-
que when re -touching which
enables him to matte exten-
sive corrections in a picture,
e.g. excluding light in a
sitter's eye. He also uses a
type of textured lacquer
over the coloured picture to
protect it and make it wash-
able --his pictures are guar-
anteed not to mark or fade
for one hundred years. Some
other area photographers
use the same method, but it
is not generally wide -spread
and is an important step in
photography. This process
was developed in the southern
United States to protect
pictures from the acid in the
air pollution.
Brian is still living at
Cromarty with his wife
Eleanor who teaches mathem-
atics at C.H.S.S. They have no
family. He has one assistant
who is learning processing
and re -touching under Brian's
supervision. Brian feels that
the future is good in, photo-
graphy.

small town but Brian prefers
this to a large city. "It's
easier for people to get ;to
know you, and yhou them,"
he says.
Brian studied Industrial
Arts and took his Senior
Matriculation at Danford

and while there joined the
photography club, where his
serious interest in photogr-

was with the Nuclear Govern-
