Under the connecting link agreement the Ministry will pay for all costs 'of const- ruction and will then turn the road over to the village. The addition will be a home economics room with an area of 1,200 square feet and an estimated cost of $87,600. A general purpose room is be- ing renovated to be used for industrial arts. This cost will be about $63,000. General repairs to class- room corridors in the south wing including new ceilings and storm windows will be carried out. In addition new mechanical and electrical changes will be made to the south wing including new lighting supply and return air ventilation system. A new electrical service will be installed with full capac- ity for the future and a new public address system. This will cost about $63,000 bring- ing the tota project to about $240,000 including consult- ants fees. In other business at their special meeting council set up guidelies and new rate structures for building permits in the municipalities. From now .on all applications for building permits must 'be made directly to the inspector, Harvey Clausius, who in turn has the authority to approve all requests for re -roofing or other alterations up to $1,000. Applications for over $1,000 will be submitted by him to council with his recommend- ations noted. At the same time council increased the amount to be paid for permits to a minimum of $10 up to $1,000 worth of construction. For any const- ruction over $1,000, the fee will be $10 for the first $1,000 and then one dollar for each additional thousand dollars in value. There will be no per- mit necessary for work done up to $300 in value. Rate of pay for the building inspector was set out as follows $5.00 for re -roofing or minor alterations where one inspect- ion wil be sufficient; $6.00 for each inspection when two are required for major alter- ations or additions. For work under OHRP he will receive $6.00 per hour, and in exc- eptional cases the amount of $6.00 per hour will be used for a guideline.
