couple operated the general
store at Brinsley before their
retirement 11 years ago.
Recently both became resid-
ents at the Craigholme nurs-
ing home in Ailsa Craig, but
are still quite active.
The family and friends held
a special party for them in
the nursing home to cele-
brate the anniversary. A
table •was beautifully decor-
ated with several arrange-
ments of flowers which had
been received and a special
anniversary cake was enjoyed.
A relative brought along the
couple's wedding photo of
Mrs. Trevithick was the
former Rose Hess and was
born in Zurich. She recalls
her wedding day as being
"a pleasant, warm summer
day with the sun shining."
Following the wedding the
couple moved to Brinsley,
the groom's home town
•where they ran the family
general store which has
been inexistence from
1890. At that time the store
carried a complete range of
merchandise from wagon
wheels to hair pins.
