Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sararas
and Diane and Mr. and Mrs.
Roy MacDonald attended the
Montgomery and Reed wedd-
ing in Brampton on Saturday,
August 2, and stayed the night
in Toronto and attended a
family picnic on Sunday after-'
noon at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Reed, Mississauga.
HENSALL ARENA
Work will soon be complet-
ed on the Hensall Arena. The
chassis of the roof has been-
re-inforced and a new roof
installed at a cost of app-
roximately $25,000. This will
bring the roof up to govern-
ment standards for snow
loads. The work is being done
by Gregus Construction,
Exeter.
Service at the United
Church was conducted- by
Rev. Don Beck with Mrs.
John Turkheim at the organ.
The subject of the sermon
was "Don't be afraid."
Guest soloist, Mrs. Eric Luth-
er sang "What is the love of
Jesus to thee?" accompanied
on the piano by her husband.
The flowers were from the
wedding of Joan .Allen and
Wayne Beierling.
The Big '0' Drain Tile
Company on Highway 4 is
again expanding. Work has
begun on a new warehouse
64 feet x 88 feet which will
give them an additional
5600 square feet of space.
It is to be used for produc-
ing and storing filter used in
special application drain tile
and it is hoped that it will
be ready for use early in
September. To make room for
the warehouse a small bung-
alow was wrecked. Erected
by the late Dr. Moir in the
thirties it was first the home
of Dr. Moir's brother and
sister. Later Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Faber lived there and
following that Mr. and Mrs.
William Hyde. Mr. Hyde
will be remembered as an
"Old Time Fiddler" of local
renown who won many
trophies both in this area
and in Western Ontario.
After his death Mr. and Mrs.
Ken Pollock resided there
and following their move to
town various people have
lived there for short periods.
Mr. and Mrs. Sim Robal
and Mr. Cornelius Roobal
' and Mr. and Mrs. Don Dodds
and family of Seaforth spent
lasst Thursday at Fanshawe
Park and Pioneer village.
Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobal
and Mr. Cornelius Roobal vis-
ited Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Van Dyke and Mrs. Tony
Van Dyke in Bradford. On
Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Gorter of Troy visited Mr.
and Mrs. Sim Roobal and oth-
er friends in the commun-
ity.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant Love,

and also with Mr. Love's
sister, Mrs. Grace McEwen,
who is a patient in Victoria
Hospital, London..
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Alder -
dice and family are visiting
relatives in the area.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray
Keyes and Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Corbett spent the weekend
at the former's cottage in the
Haliburton district.
Mr. Ross Corbett returned
home from St. Joseph's
Hospital London after having
surgery on his elbow which he
injured in falling at his
home.

Laren, Jodi and Brooke of
Oakville holidayed this week
with Mrs. Bertha MacGregor.
