Mr. and Mrs. Don Joynt returned home after holiday- ing at their cottage on Manitoulin Island. Mrs. Eric Munroe of Sea - forth was a recent visitor with Mrs. Bertha MacGregor. Mrs. Glenn E. Bell, who was a patient in South Huron Hospital returned to her home. Mr.' Rod Chapman, of the staff of the Bank of Montreal has been transferred from Huron Park Branch to the Bank of Montreal Branch in Mildmay and commenced duties there this week. Mr. and Mrs. Don Mac - Laren, Jodi and Brooke returned to their home in Oakville after spending several days with Mrs. Bertha MacGregor and Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Chapman and Rod. Mrs. Gladys CVoleman, Mrs. Margaret Ingram, Mrs. Leona Parke and Mrs. Laura Ingram enjoyed a plea- sant holiday to the East coast, touring many interesting places. - Mrs. Bertha MacGregor spent the weekend in London and was a guest at the Gray - Brady wedding in Adelaide Street Baptist church on Sat- urday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sararus of Weston visited last week with the former's mother Mrs. E. Sararus at Queens- way Nursing Home and with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mac- Donald, and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sararus. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dill- ing of Sarnia visited over the weekend with the form- er's father Mr. Wilbert Dill- ing and with his mother Mrs. Dilling at Queensway Nursing Home. Miss Cindy Parker com- menced a .course at the Marvel Hair Styling School in London. CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY Mrs. Emalie Schroeder, formerly of R.R.2, Hensall, who has been a resident of the Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich for the past two and one-half years, celebrated her 93rd birthday on Saturday, August 9. She was honored with the presentation of a "Birthday Cake" and gifts. Mrs. Schroeder enjoys good health and has braided num- erous mats for the home and friends. Charles Mickle, Hamilton, is spending this week with his mother, Mrs. Laird Mickle after returning recently from a three week vacation spent in the Caribbean. He visited the islands of Antigua, Dom- inica and Nevis. Miss Elvira Churchhill of Toronto is vacationing this week with her sister Mrs. Pearl Shaddick. Mrs. Laird Mickle and Charles visited Sunday with the former's daughter, Mrs. Brian Collins, husband and new granddaughter at St. Marys General Hospital, Kit- chener. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoy and BABY OF London spent the weekend with the form- er's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoy. Mrs. Pearl Koehler return- ed home by air on Friday after visiting with her son- in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. D. Gaiser in Regina. - Mr. and Mts. Robert Chaffe Joey, Tony and Jackie of Mitchell were recent visit- ors with Mrs. Chaffe's par- ents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corbett. Obituary THOMAS J. GITTUS Thomas J. Gittus of Hensall passed away in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Friday, August 8, in his 85th year. Surviving is his wife Gert- rude (Weseloh), sons, Rich- ard J. Gittus. Bridgetown, Missouri; Arthur J. Gittus, Rochester, Minnesota; a brother William Gittus, Pheonix, Arizona, sisters, Mrs. Ida Underwood, Mrs. Linnic Houston, Mrs. Fred Weseloh, Tecumseh, Mich; Mrs. Margaret Lewis, Roch- ester, Mich; seven grand- children, and one great- grandchild. Funeral service was held from the Bonthron Fun- eral Chapel, Monday, August 11 at 2 p.m. with Rev. L.H. Kalbfleisch in .charge.
