Tories elect Hayter
for new riding

of the Lions Club in that

Among priorities listed by
the candidate for the new rid-
ing of Huron -Middlesex
are better facilities for senior
citizens, more recreational
facilities, and more assistance
for the small businessman.

ton, Strathroy, visited Monday
with Mr. and Mrs. Norman
F. Cooper, on their return
from a vacation trip to P.E.I.

meeting were Robert E.
McKinley, Huron MP, Lorne
Henderson, Lambton MP,
and Bob Eaton, MP for Mid-
dlesex South and parlia-
mentary assistant to Agricult-
ure Minister William Stewart.
Mr. Stewart, who announc-
ed earlier this week that he
will be retiring from politics,
was in attendance at the meet-
ing. Practically every speaker
praised Mr. Stewart for his
many years of outstanding
service to the government
as both a member of parlia-
ment and the Minister of
Agriculture.
Elmer Hayter, R.R.1, Varna
president of the newly -constit-
uted Huron -Middlesex riding,
chaired the meeting. Greet-
ings from the town of Exeter
were extended by reeve
Derry Boyle, while Warden
Anson McKinley extended
greetings to the grup on
behalf of Huron County.
