Bayfield Lions Club 28th
Annual Summer Carnival
held Friday evening, July 25
was termed a real success
by Lion members.
The Carnival got off to a fine
start at 7 p.m. when the par-
ade of floats, decorated
bicycles, costumed pedestr-
ians marched up Main Street
around Clan Gregor Square
to the Agricultural grounds,
led by the Ipperwash Cadet
Band, where rides, games of
chance, Bingo refreshment
stands, candy apples and
candy floss were all set up
Judging the numerous
entries in the parade was
a difficult task, as a great
deal of work had gone into
preparing for the parade.
Winners in the float class
were as follows - Special prize,
Tom Penhale (pair of Belg-
ium Horses and wagon),
First prize Bayfield Cubs
and Scouts, second, Old
Homestead Campgrounds,
third, Lionetes of Bayfield;
fourth, Knox Presbyterian
church. Pony and Rig, Blair
Brothers with Ginger.

Merner.

BAPTIST CHURCH LADIES
The Bayfield Baptist Church
Ladies group entertained Mrs.
Bruce Eaton and the Ladies
group of South End Baptist
Church of Owen Sound on
Tuesday. They enjoyed a pic-
nic dinner at noon on the
grounds at the Baptist parson-

RE: PROPOSED STOPPING UP,CLOSING
AND CONVEYANCE OF PART OF EAST
STREET, ZURICH
Notice is hereby given pursuant of Section 44(i of The
Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, c.284 that the council of
the Corporation of the Village of Zurich proposes to pass
a by-law:
1, To stop up part of East Street designated as Part
of Lot 20, Concession 10, formerly in the Township
of Hay, now in the Village of Zurich,
2. To authorize the conveyance of the freehold of the
stopped up Highway to R.J.T. Holdings, Inc. to
the Village of Zurich of the streets laid out in a
Plan of Subdivision of lands abutting the stopped
up part of East Street.
The proposed plan, by-law and description showing the
lands affected may be seen in my office at Village Hall,
Zurich, Ontario.
On the 13th day of August, 1975, at 8 p,ni. in the Council
Chambers, Village Hall, the council of the Corporacion
of the Village of Zurich will hear, in person, or by counsel,
solicitor or agent, any person who claims his lands will be
prejudicially affected by the said by-law and who applies
to be heard.
Any such person who wishes to be heard should, as soon
as possible, make application to:

A social hour followed and the
ladies all had a nice visit
with one another. Tea was
served before the gathering
departed for their respective
homes. Among those present

Ivor Bodenham and Mrs.

several former church memb-
ers; Mrs. George Mayor,
Burlington, Mrs. Florence
Keyes, Exeter; Mrs. Merle

ABOUT PEOPLE
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mey-
er, Michelle and Marsha,
Waterloo were weekend
guests of her mother, Mrs.
Lena Ervine.
Captain Peter MacKenzie
arrived this weekend to be
with his wife Olga and
family for a holiday at the
home of his in-laws, Rev.
George and Mrs. Youmatoff.
Best wishes to Mr. Reg
Francis who is confined to
Alexandra Marine and Gen-
eral Hospital in Goderich.
Mr. and Mrs. J.B Higgins
returned home last week
after spending an enjoyable
two weeks in the Highlands
of Haliburton on Lake Bosh -
kung as the guests of her
aunt, Mrs. G.M. Chesney at
her summer home.
Mrs. Mary Melaban and
four children of Balirsville,
Penn., Mrs. George Wright,
London and Miss Debbie
Miskie, Elmwood are vacat-
ioning with Mr. and Mrs.
Arnold Makins and family.
Mrs. Margaret Garrett was
in Ottawa from Wednesday
to Sunday of last week
attending a Cameo Convent-
ion.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Martin
and family, Detroit, Michigan,
are holidaying at their cottage
for the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Rob Irwin
and Robbie, London visited
with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. E.W. Erickson and fam-
ily on Friday.
Misses Joanne and Sheryl
Layton of Brucefield are
holidaying with their grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Craig at Pine Lake Camp.

were weekend guests of Mr.

age residence for several

Mr. Bud Sturgeon and his
fiancee, Miss Barbara David-
son, London were weekend
guests of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Davidson in Wind-
sor
Mrs. Violet Sturgeon is vis-
iting for a few days with rel-
atives in Port Stanley and on
Sunday attended the Parker
family reunion in Pinafore
Park, St. Thomas.
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Geme-
inhardt returned home on
Sunday after spending several
days in Blind River and Mass-
ey. On Saturday they attended
the maniac of her niece, Miss
Linda Wagner, Blind River
to Mr. James McKinney of
Toronto in Zion Lutheran
Church in Massey and the
reception in Iron Bridge
Community Hal: They report-
ed a very enjoyable trip and
went by way of Tobermory,
crossing to South Bay Mouth
on the Chi-Chi-Maun and
returned home also
