Mrs. Bertha Blackwell of Cal-
ifornia visited this week with her
brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Edgar W. Munn.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Campbell
and Mrs. George Armstrong
attended the 35th wedding anniv-
ersary of their nephew and his
wife Mr. and Mrs, Harry Cole-
man at Mitchell this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Flynn return-
ed home after holidaying at
Pt. Farms Provincial Park and
Sauble Falls.
Rev. W.D. Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday. Mrs. Malcolm
Dougall presided at the organ
and accompanied the choir in
the anthem "Hold Thous My
Hand."
Service next Sunday will be
at Hensall United Church at
11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Don
Beck and will continue during
the month of August. Service
will resume the first Sunday in
September at 9 a.m. when Rally
Day Service will be held in Carm-
el Church
Mr. and Mrs George Dowson
returned home from a trip
through Western Canada as far as
Vancouver and while there visit-
ed with George Taylor.
Mrs..Jim TGaylor and daugh-
ter Miss Pamela Taylor, of Kitch-
ener returned home from holiday-
ing in Quebec.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holland,
Gwen and Michael of Clinton
and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Corbett
and Wayne were dinner guests
with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sangster
and Bradley this week.
The recreation committee of
Hay Township met on Tuesday
night in the Township Hall at
Zurich to discuss the possibility
of leasing the Agriculture
grounds. It was recommended an
agreement be drawn up with the
Council.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gittus
and son Andrew of Rochester,
Minnesota visited last week
with the former's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gittus.
Mrs. Wilmer MacDonald,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack MacDon-
ald and Mrs. Ruth Anne
Penrose of Brampton visited
recently with Mr. and Mrs.
Edgar Cudmore.

On July 24th the Huron
Country Playhouse, Grand
Bend entertained the resid-
ents with several comedy
musical selections.
On Tuesday Rev. W. Jar-
vis conducted the church
service with Louise Mitchell
accompanying on the piano.
Mrs. Franklin Skinner, Ex-
eter and Mrs. Knight and
friend of Kitchener visited
Ruby Miners.
Leonard and Vera Bragg of
St. Marys visited Arthur
Bragg.
Rev. Bruce and Mrs. Pierce
of Crediton visited Hugo
Schenk. Leila Finkbeiner,
of Exeter, also visited with
Hugo Schenk.
On Sunday Leslie Mitchell
of Crediton visited his mother
Mrs. Louise Mitchell. Shirley
Prouty of Exeter visited with
Lynn Latimer. Vera Laramie
was visited by Chester and Illa
Dunn, Exeter, and Any and
Greta Laramie, Hensall.
Jing and Hazel McNaugh-
ton, Brucefield visited the
latter's mother, Mrs. Ada
Smillie.
The Parker -Keyes picnic
was held on Saturday at
Riverview Park, Exeter,
with over 60 members and
their families attending from
London, Mitchell, Stratford,
Grand Bend, Port Credit,
Exeter, Hensall, Seaforth,
Whitby, Brampton, Cpl.
Doug Wein, Rick and Judith
Parker were in charge of the
races and games.
They were assisted by
George and Kan Parker.
A delicious supper was enjoy-
ed by all and a special feat-
ure of the event was the cele-
bration of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
mer MacDonald, Brampton,
25th wedding anniversary.
A humorous mock wedding
was presented after which
they were presented with the
anniversary cake, and many
other gifts. Mrs. Margaret
Ruston Stratford was presid-
ent and Mrs. Patsy Dalton,
Seaforth treasurer of the picn-
ic. The climax of the day
was a ballgame. The picnic
will be held at Riverview
Park next year.

i market on Saturday attend-
ing the wedding of Catharine
Anne Vickers and Ronald Alan
McGuckin in Trinity United
Church, Newmarket. The
bride is a niece of Mrs.
Horton and Mr. McNaughton.
Miss Sylvia Merner has been
enjoying her vacation.

Institute have been compiling
a cook book of their special
recipes. The cookbook has
been printed and assembled
and is now on sale from
any of the members.
Mrs. Don Upshall entert-
ained at a miscellaneous
shower in honour of her
niece Miss Diane Adkins
of Exeter, on July 25.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed McBride
have returned from Sault
Ste. Marie.
Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Mellis
visited recently with Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Burke in
Wroxeter.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gack-
stetter, Guelph were guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones
and also visited old friends in
the Kippen area.
