Summer
playground
The second week of Zurich
playground finished last Friday
afternoon. Pioneering was the
theme for this week. For a proj-
ect we created a pioneer village
which took most of the week to
make.
Activities included many
games, songs, stories and making
our village. On Wednesday
we staged a Kangaroo Court
with judge Wayne McKinnon
presiding. The prosecutor was
Kevin Oke, bailiff Peter Smith
and a select jury made quite a
successful mock court situation.
Friday afternoon was our
special event day. The Goderich
Pioneer Museum was chosen
as a good place to complete
the week because it made us
appreciate what we do have
now. Late that afternoon our
"mini" village was on display
for visitors.

This past week has been rath-
er unpredictable, one day sun
and the next day rain. However,
variety is supposed to be the
spice of life.
The Sunday evening chapel
service on July 13 was conducted
by Rev. Clayton Kuepfer of the
Zurich Mennonite Church.

residents were invited to the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
' Erb of the Bronson Line by the
members of the Girls' Missionary
Service Auxiliary. The afternoon
was sunny and the residents
enjoyed the fresh country air
and the various farm animals
that were out grazing in the
pasture. A delicious picnic supp-
er was served by the girls and
the residents came back ref-
reshed and happy.
On behalf of the residents we
want to thank the girls for arr-
anging this outing and for the
concern for each resident.
We are grateful to Mrs. Harry
McAdams for the fresh garden
beans and beets and Mrs. Tet-
reau and Mrs. Pask for helping
to prepare them for use, also
Mrs. Harry Bassow for the del-
icious jars of black current jam.
We appreciate these donations
very much.
On Thursday evening bingo
was played followed by refresh-
ments.
