CANUCKS5- BRUINS 4
Canucks ended the Bruins
winning streak as they downed
them 5-4 in overtime. The victory
was partly due to the fact that the
Canucks skated and passed
welland had great goaltending
by Derek O'Brien..
The first period involved a lot
of close -checking, with the Can-
ucks outscoring the Bruins 2-1.
Kim McKinnon started the scor-
ing at 6:31. Two minutes later
Gary Koehler came back and
scored for the Canucks. Steve
Smith added one at the end of
the period to finish off the scor-
ing. During the second period
the Bruins came on to tie it up

The residents enjoyed an hour
of piano melodies in the Audit-
orium on Monday afternoon
played by Mrs. Elsie Henderson.
The Clinton Centennial Band
led b Miss Legg played a concert
on the front lawn on Tuesday
evening. The weather was perf-
ect for a band concert and most
of the residents were able to
take advantage of the music.
The band has 35 members
ranging in age from 10 to 18
and they have made great prog-
ress during the past year under
their new leader.
The "Over 90 Club" held a
picnic on Wednesday afternoon
at Pinelake Camp. Twenty memb-
ers of the Club travelling by van
and car had a tour of the Bay-
neld area and following a tour
of the camp had supper beside
the lake.
The Walkerburn volunteers of
Auburn assisted with activities
and we wish to thank Bob and
Shirley Elliott for the use of the
picnic area.
3-3. Scoring for the Bruins were
Paul Masse and Rick Gingerich
while the lone goal for the Can-
ucks came from the stick of Randy
Oke.
The third period both teams
skated and checked well, each
team scoring one goal. Scoring for
the Bruins was Kim McKinnon
with h is second and scoring
for the Canucks was Randy
McKinnon. This made it 4-4
after regulation time. The two
teams went into overtime with the
Canucks coming out on top as
Ron Desjardine scored two min-
utes into overtime giving the
Canucks a well deserved victory.
FLYERS 8 - CANADIENS 6
Perry Stover was a one man
team as he scored 7 goals for the
Flyers. The score at the end of the
first period was 4-2 in favour of
the Flyers. Stover scored all four
goals. Scoring for the Canadians
were Paul Klopp and Paul Masse.
Scoring came out even in the
second period with both teams
scoring two goals. Again scoring
both goals for the Flyers was
Perry Stover who had a great
night for scoring. The Canadien
goals were scored by Paul Masse
and Ron Desjardine.
The third period, Stover scor-
ed his seventh goal while Jeff
McKinnon added the last goal.
The Canadiens last two goals
came from the sticks of Randy
Oke and Gary Koehler.
We would like to try to urge
the players that play for the
Canadiens to come out and play
for their team. Every week their
players don't come out. Come on
Canadiens don't wreck this
recreation, let's show up on
Thursday nights.

The theme of the first week of
Zurich Sumner playground
was nature week. First of all we
got acquainted with each other.
The leaders of playground are
Liz Deichert and Janet McKin-
ley
Our daily schedule for that
week was .going upstairs and
played the guitar. Then we list-
ened to a story.
For crafts we made paper
flowers and bugs out of egg
cartons called "creepies."
We also did leaf prints and nat-
ure scenes. Later on we went
into the roller rink to play act-
ive games.
At the end of the week we
went on a nature hike to a bush
at the south end of Zurich.
After the hike we had a wiener
roast.
That concluded our first week
of playground. We're sure all
the kids had a great time, we
did.
