LADIES GUILD
The Ladies Guild of Trinity
Anglican Church reported a
succesful Dessert and Progres-
sive Euchre and Bridge Party
in the Parish Hall on Tuesday
afternoon, July 8. The ladies
served a wide variety of very del-
icious desserts with an added
taste of goodies for those on low
sugar diets. Mrs. Howard Burt,
of Woodstock won the high
euchre prize with Mrs. Martin,
of Clinton winning the low. Mrs.
Hazel Parker, of Clintdn was the
high bridge winner and Mrs. Reg
Wilson took home the low prize.
RUMMAGE SALE
A gigantic crowd burst through
the doors of the Bayfield Arena
at 8 p.m. Friday evning and en-
riched the coffers of the Pion-
eer Park Association by over
$1,000 by attending their annual
rummage sale. Tables were laden
with shoes, toys, books, plants,
hardware, kitchen items, cloth-
ing, linens, draperies, and wood-
en salad articles. On the floor
were lawn mowers (of all eras)
bicycles, baby cribs, tables, easy

Smith told this reported that the
proceeds from the sale would
assist the association in paying
for the groynes that were instal-
led below Pioneer Park last year
to hopefully save the bank from
further erosion. He also said the
association were very grateful
for the tremendous support that
they had received.
On Sunday evning, July 20,
at 7:30 p.m. the Second Annual
Sunset Service will be held in
Pioneer Park. This service will
be conducted on Ecumenical
lines, with all the churches in
Bayfield taking part. A sincere
invitation is extended to attend,
and you are asked to please bring
along your own seating: It is also
understood that again this sum-
mer in August, the Lambton
Players from the Community
College, Sarnia will be staging
two plays in the Park. This
group were well received and
very much enjoyed last summer.
Members of the Bayfield Loyal
Orange Lodge 24, walked in the
Glorious 12th of July Parade
on Saturday in Clinton and at-
tended the celebrations there.
Several villagers were also on
hand to witness the Parade in
remembrance of the Battle of the
Boyne of 1690.
Erin Roselena Dinel, baby
daughter of Don and Elaine
(Weston) Dinel, of London was
baptised on Sunday, July 6,
on her sister Tracey 's tenth
birthday, during the morning
worship service in Trinity Anglic-
an Church, Bayfield. The Rector,
Rev. George Youmatoff perform-
ed the service. Mrs. Don John-
ston and Mrs. Morris Sauve,
both of Bayfield and aunt's
of the baby were her Godmoth-
ers. Erin Roselena is the fifth
generation of the family to be
baptised in Trinity Church.
Following ' the service, Mrs.
Maude Weston, grandmother of
the baby, served a lovely dinner
to all the members of her
family in honour of theBaptism
of Erin and the birthday of
Tracey. Also present was Erin's
great-grandmother, Mrs. Myrtle
Parker of Bayfield.

Dewar who is confined to hospital
in • Belleville. Miss Dewar is
formerly of Bayfield and last
August (1974) retired to Belle-
ville after being the Huron'Coun-
ty Librarian for several years,
Friends will be sorry to learn
of the death of Mrs. Hazel
Newton, beloved wife of Ken
•Newton in Detroit, Michigan, on
Wednesday, July 9. The funeral
service was held in Detroit on.
Saturday, July 12, 1975.
Mr. and Mrs. John Cummings
and family of Mount Brydges
are spending the summer at
their cottage.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Carter and
Peggy, St. Marys are at their
cottage for the summer.

and Mrs. E.W. Erickson and fam-

Mrs. Ted Morley and son Rob-
bie, Cleveland, Ohio are spending
this week at their Village resid-
ence. With them for the weekend
were her brother and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Burt,
Janice and Diane of St. Cathar-

ing in the village for two weeks.

ious 12th of July celebrations
in Clinton on Saturday and on
their return home visited with the
former's daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Gary Potter and grandaughter
Merry at R.R.3, Clinton.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Latimer and
Christine and Karen Smythe of
Weston and Mr. Ronald Knight,
Toronto were weekend guests of
Mrs. G.L. Knight. Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Latimer, who were camping
at Rainbow Valley Camp for the
weekend were dinner guests of
his grandmother, Mrs. G.L.
