JOYCE PEPPER, CORRESPONDENT UNITED CHURCH NOTES Rev Don Beck preached on the sermon topic "Commit- tment of Life, "for the service or worship in Hensall United Church Sunday morning. The choir sang the anthem "Jub- ilante Amen," accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Turk- heim. The basket of flowers were from the funeral of the late Mrs. Norman Jones. Next Sun- day, June 29 will be sacrament of infant baptism. BUS TRIP Members of Hensall Women's Institute and friends enjoyed a bus trip on Monday to the -Men- nonite Community of Elmira. A tour of some of the import- ant points and some of the farms was much enjoyed. Many horses and buggies were also seen. They also visited Woodside National Historic Park in Kitch- ener, the birth place of Will- iam Lyon MacKenzie, and the Gay Lea Plant at Seaforth. PEPPER REUNION The annual Pepper reunion was held on Sunday in the Seaforth Community Park with over 50 in attendance. The sports were conducted by Lawrence and Lois Barker and Dalton and Marj Malcolm. Winners were races 8 and und- er, Lori Rutter; girls 12 and under, Jo -Ann Pepper, boys 12 and under, Fred Miller young ladies, Brenda Pepper, ladies kick -the -slipper, Eleanor Falconer, men' s kick -the -slipper, Eleanor Falconer, men's kick -the slipper, Sandy Pepper. Children's kick -the -slipper, Laurie Pepper; walk on rope with book on head, Joyce Pepper's team; milk bottle, water and pail relay, Joyce Pepper's team. Adults ping pong balls on foil plate, Don Riley and Viola Taylor; children's ping pong balls Fred Miller and Brenda Riehl, guessing contents of a can, Joyce Pepper. After a delicious picnic supper, the president, Cecil Pepper pres- ided for a short meeting. He thanked all the commit- tees for the work they had done. The oldest person present was Mrs. Georg Pepper, of Mitchell. The people coming the farthest to attend the picnic were Don and Julene Riley and family of Bryanston. HENSALL SPRING FAIR (continued from page 1) In the baby contest, best baby under six months was Kelly, daughter of Bonnie and Don Schenk, of Zurich, while best baby six months to olne year was Anne, daughter of Pam and Ron Walper, of Exeter.
