roll call was answered by 10
members. Secretary, Mrs. Greta
Scotchmer gave the report
of'the May meeting, which was
approved. Letters of thanks
were received for flowers and
cards and were read and moved
for filing.
The treasurer, Mrs. Merton
Merner being absent, her report
was read by the president and
was adopted. She reported that
the vacuum cleaner had been
repaired to the satisfaction of the
cleaner. It was included in her
motion 'that incidental bills
came in before our next meeting
in September should be paid by
the treasurer. Mrs. Fitzsimons
also reported on the Flower and
Card committee; that a number
of cards and flowers had been
sent out to members connect-
ed with the church. It was dec-
ided to purchase an electric
broom for use in the church and
parish hall for quick cleanups.
A committee was appointed to
look after this purchase.
Birthday money was paid by
Mrs. George Clark, Mrs. Bill
Parker, Mrs. R. Roy Fitzsimons
and Mrs. Greta Scotchmer.
Plans were finalized for the
Dessert Euchre and Bridge
party to be held in the Parish
Hall, at 1;30 p.m. Tuesday
afternoon.
Ladies and gentlemen
are both cordially invited to
attend _ and enjoy a lovely des-
sert and a game of progressive
euchre or bridge.
The next meeting of the
Guild will be on Tuesday,
September 9, with Mrs. R.L
Larson as hostess. The • Minister
then closed the meeting and a
very delicious pot -luck supper
was enjoyed.
St. Joseph Island is located
about 25 miles east of the
Soo. This large island is just
inside the Canadian border and
only the width of the chan-
nel from Neebish Island on the
Michigan side. On this Island
you can see the remains of
Fort St. Joseph.
