ALL ABOUT BAYFIELD ;INTERESTING HAPPENINGS IN ONTARIO'S PRETTIEST VILLAGE Bayfield Ever Young. Senior Citizens are reminded of their regular meeting on Thursday evening, May 29 in the Municip- al Building at 8 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Alf McLaughlin have returned to their home in the, Village after spending the winter in Tuscon, Arizona and Indio, California. Mr. and Mrs. Bob C1uff, Rob and Tara; London were at their cottage for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Rob Irwin and Robbie visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Watson, in Exeter on Satur- day. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Parker, and Jennifer, London were with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker on Monday. Mrs. Jack Brown, Kitchener, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Westlake on Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Barry Brandon and Darrell and Mrs. Tom Brandon all of Waterloo were Sunday guests and also visited relatives and friends in the Village. With the Westlake family on Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Guest and Susan of Willowdale. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Talbot accompanied their son Mr. and Mrs. Les Talbot and Cari Lynn to Lansing, Michigan where they visited Mr. and Mrs, Bert Casler and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Casler for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Merrill returned Friday from a four week motor trip to Vancouver, B.C. where they attended the wedding of their son Gordon to Jose Knight. Enroute 'Lome they visited friends and relatives on Vancouver Island, in Saskatche- wan and Northern Ontario. Bayfield Area Bluebird Society has had nine bluebird nesting reported so far this spring. Mary Jean Betties, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Betties of R, R.2, Bayfield, has three nestings in boxes she is checking. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Francis and family had as their guest for four days, her brother-in-law, Mr. Hero Smid of Valkenwaard, Holland. Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Armstrong Julia and James and Mr, and Mrs. Doug Armstrong, all of R.R.3, Bayfield, were joined by Alan Armstrong of Ottawa and all attended the wedding of Stephen Farris and Patricia White in Knox College Chapel, University of Toronto, on Satur- day last and the reception at the Faculty Club. Following their honeymoon trip, Stephen will be starting regular Sunday services in Knox Church, Bayfield, on June 8 at 11 a.m. for the summer months and will be assisted in his Parish work by his wife Patric. ia. (Bessie) Scotchmer who is a pat- ient in Victoria Hospital, London We are happy to report that Ken Brandon was able to leave Clinton Hospital on Thursday and is with his family in the village. Little Kelly is still in University Hospital in London but from all reports she is progressing very nicely. We hope it won't be too long before they are all together again. Mrs. Reg Francis, Mrs. Lloyd Huffman, Mrs. Harry Darnbrough and Mrs. Pat Cooke reported a wonderful time in Nashville, last weekend. They left Bayfield on Friday and returned home on Monday. While in Nashville they attended the Grand Old Opry and toured Opryland, stayed in a lovely motel, complete with pool and were guests at two dances held for those on tour. Members of the choir of Siloan United Church in London will provide special music in Knox Presbyterian Church for their regular morning worhsip service on Sunday morning, June 1 at 11 a.m. Rev. Lloyd Clifton of Toronto will be the guest minist- er. Sincere sympathy is extended to the members of the family of the late Mr. Harold Penhale, of R.R,3, Bayfield who passed away on Saturday, May 24 in Clinton Public Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Don Corriveau, Sheila and Bryan of Waterloo spent the weekend with her par- ents and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Wild, Joe, Peter and Theres and Pat at R.R.3, Bayfield. On Sunday, May 18, the cong- regation of Knox Presbyterian Church held a delicious pot- luck luncheon and a social get- together following the morning service, and presented their student minister, Stephen Farris and his fiance, Patricia White both of Toronto, with several gifts to honour there on their forthcoming marriage. During the social hour, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Heard were also presented Zuric Calf Clu (by Adrian Rasenberg) The first meeting of the Zur- ich Calf Club was held on the farm of Ray Rasenberg on May 14. In this meeting we planned and discussed what we would like to do for the following ' meetings and the dates and place: that they will be held. After that the executive council was picked and when all the 4-H members were in favour, the nominations were closed. Mrs. Rasenberg provided a lunch for the 4-H members after the meeting was adjourned. Mrs. Vicki McLaughlin, Meag• an, Alfie and Courtney, Toronto were holiday visitors of her par- ents Mr. and Mrs, Fred Le Beau. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ducharme Jr., and family, Windsor and Mr, and Mrs. Lo,..Ise Ducharme and family, St. Clair Beach visited during the holiday week- end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ducharme, Sr,, R.R.3, Bayfield. Mrs. Fred Mote visited for a few days last week with her cou- sin in Beachville. Miss Barbara Davidson, Lond- on was a weekend guest of Mr, and Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon, Bud and Andrew. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Overboe, Scott and Theresa have bought a home in Goderich and have tak- en up residence there. They visit ed for the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald R.
