MERNER'S ABATTOIR 237-3314 Dashwood 19„4j Saving energy' Herbicides and other pesticides require energy in their product- ion. Thus it makes sense to use them with discretion to save energy as well as crop input costs, say agricultural engineers with the Ministry of Agriculture and. Food. Every crop producer in Ontario is faced with decisions on herb- icide use, many of which must bl made before the crop is planted. He must decide on the types and quantities that will be safe for the proposed crop, sufficient for satisfactory weed control, and safe for the next crop. He must also decide if it will be cheaper to band spray and count on interrow cultivation for total weed control, CARD OF THANKS I wish to thank my friends and relatives for the cards and visits while a patient in University Hospital, - Milverna Geiger. - 19-p CustoKilling ana Processing Wednesday - Beef & Pork Zurich Abbatoir Phone 236-4939 or 236-4681 Bus. Research has shown beneficial effects on heavy clay soils where soil crust- ing is a problem. In the past, available time and dollar cost has determined the combination of herbicides and cultivation. In the future a third factor - energy- will be just as important.
